230,000 guineas Exceed And Excel colt related to some useful performers. Two starts to date showing promise on both occasions. Granted reasonable progression he should be very much in the thick of the action this time.
Dark Angel colt cost 50,000 guineas as a yearling and made a nice start to his career when three-length fifth in decent Ascot 7f novice stakes, staying on steadily. Will know more now and looks a contender.
350,000 guineas son of Nathaniel who holds a Derby entry. In touch until faded from 2 out on debut over 7f at Ascot earlier this month. Should improve but may need more time before fulfilling his potential.
45,000 Bated Breath colt, half-brother to two decent winners. Has shown ability in two 6f novice events and this extra furlong may help the cause, although this looks a potentially tougher task.
Purchased for €80,000 at the French Breeze Ups earlier this year, this Dabirsim colt makes his racecourse debut and may be better for the experience unless market signals suggest he's forward enough to take a hand.
Equiano gelding out of a 6f German juvenile winner so should have some speed but has run poorly both starts to date finishing last on each occasion. Hard to enthuse over.
By Kodiac, this gelding's dam was placed in Group company as a juvenile. Made a fair start when fifth of 14 at Newcastle recently over 6f, keeping on well. Extra furlong looks right and yard is in form so may not be at all far away.
Colt by Exceed And Excel form a good female line. Makes his debut here for top yard that can get them ready so market indications should tell much of the story.
6,500 guineas gelding by Sepoy, is half-brother to the useful 10-time winner Sound Advice. Makes debut today for yard not known for winning juvenile debutants so probably best watched for now.
€64,000 Olympic Glory filly, half-sister to seven winners. Had a wide trip on debut in big field at Goodwood and ran better than finishing position indicates. Much more needed but did show signs of ability.
Result Amended
Faro Angel - Original Position 2nd. Amended Position 1st.
Nubough - Original Position 1st. Amended Position 2nd.
Forecasts
Faro Angel (4/6), Nubough (6/1), Past Glories (6/1), Hold Still (8/1), Extreme Force (12/1), God Has Given (14/1), Legend Island (25/1), Confils (50/1), Lordsbridge Boy (100/1), Pukka Tique (100/1)
A decent event in which narrow preference is for Luca Cumani's FARO ANGEL who caught the eye keeping on into fifth at Ascot on debut and can build on that eyecatching effort. Extreme Force should win races and is another to have hinted he is not far away from striking after two promising starts, and it's a simliar story with Nubough, who looked a nice prospect on debut and should relish the extra furlong. Of the newcomers, Legend Island and Past Glories are worth monitoring for market support.
- Faro Angel
- Nubough
- Extreme Force
