Goes well with cut in the ground. Went close from this mark at Beverley in July. Good effort next time at Thirsk and fast ground an excuse when well held last time. Should be much better suited here. Enters calculations.
Scored over 6f (soft) at Doncaster in April and looked to have been saved until slower ground returned, having had just one start since, when 1¼L third (5f, good to soft) at Thirsk last week. Same mark here. Each-way player.
Soft ground novice winner at Redcar 12-months ago. Decent effort at Thirsk (5f, soft) last time, when 2¾L fourth in a 0-85, when 2lb higher. Short-listed.
Soft ground debut winner at Doncater (5f) in June. Well below that level under a penalty (good to firm ground and AW surface possible excuses). Initial mark looks fair, so may be capable of bouncing back.
2lb worse off with Elysian Flyer for beating him a neck at Beverley (5f, good to soft) last time. Remains dangerous from this mark now that he has hit a bit of form and conditions are to his liking. Claims.
Multiple course winner, including on testing ground. Back on the same mark as her last success so, although well held of late, she may well be much more competitive.
Scored over C&D in July (5f, good to firm) and scored again on Friday on AW at Dundalk. Looks a player under a penalty with the age allowance, though has to prove that he is as good on soft ground.
Yet to show much in the way of improvement, but may be able to do so now going handicapping from what looks to be a fair mark. Market check advised. Unraced on soft.
Acts on soft ground and went very close on it at Ayr (5f) last time, when on this same mark. Scored from 4lb higher at that same venue last year, so has the ability, though this is a tougher race. More needed but not ruled out.

Forecasts
Zig Zag Zyggy (7/2), Al Batal (7/2), Hot Hannah (4/1), Dandy's Beano (7/1), Granny Roz (8/1), Elysian Flyer (9/1), Jacob's Pillow (10/1), Lydiate Lady (10/1), Terrier Spirit (20/1), Economic Crisis (22/1)
A tough race to call, with few that can be ruled out with any confidence. Conditions have come right again for ELYSIAN FLYER, who went close from this mark earlier in the season and looks a very solid option back on soft ground. Lydiate Lady and Jacob's Pillow should both be very competitive, while Dandy's Beano is a likely player and Hot Hannah is another to consider. Granny Roz also has frame claims.
- Elysian Flyer
- Jacob's Pillow
- Dandy's Beano
