Dandy Man colt who's price dropped from €76,000 as a foal to 58,000 gns as yearling. 25/1, slowly away and never on terms on debut at Kempton (1m, AW) two weeks ago. Well drawn today and should do better.

Showed improved form on second start when beaten just 7¼L into third. Took a large step backwards when tailed off over the same C&D at Nottingham last time (6f). Steps up in trip now and cheekpieces added but much more needed.

6/4
Lope De Vega colt cost 40,000 as a yearling. Shaped with lots of promise on debut at Ascot (7f, good) when coming from off the pace to finish third. Should have learnt plenty there and is a major player here.

Dansili colt that cost 100,000 gns as a yearling. Held up on debut and didn't get the clearest of runs when just starting to pick up at Kempton (1m, AW) two weeks ago. Should have learnt plenty from that and will be a player with usual improvement.

Already gelded son of Henrythenavigator. Fifth foal who is a half-brother to a couple of winners. Dam was a winner over 1m4f. May need a little further in time and interesting to see how he compares in the market to stablemate Gravistas.

Son of Pour Moi that is a half-brother to Dark Acclaim. Dam was a winner over 1m6f on the Fibresand. Decent pedigree and holds a Derby entry. Market should be a useful guide on debut.

Son of Alhabayeb that cost 105,000 gns as a yearling. Half-brother to plenty of winners and his dam was a winner over 7f as a two-year-old. Yards runners tend to know their job on debut and likely type.

Son of Scat Daddy that fetched £110,000. Shaped with promise on debut at Ffos Las (7½f, good to firm) when showing up well before weakening late on. Should do better at some stage.

Son of Footstepsinthesand and a half-brother to a 1m winner on the AW. Ran well on debut when a closing second at Lingfield (1m, AW). Should have learnt plenty there and should do better.

Havana Gold half-sister to 1m winner Harbour Pilot. Two disappointing efforts so far and is likely to do better over further once tackling handicaps.

Forecasts

Felix The Poet (6/4), Wave Walker (5/2), Gravistas (7/2), Dubai Icon (5/1), Salam Zayed (10/1), Mosharakka (11/1), Scat King (14/1), Henry's Conquest (14/1), Mon Frere (14/1), Cauthen (25/1), Coach Party (50/1), Petit Pois (50/1)

Verdict

Quite a competitive little heat with several of these having potential to do better with experience. Dubai Icon is sure to be popular having run green on debut at Goodwood. Mon Frere is an interesting newcomer with a nice pedigree for Sir Mark Prescott who has a Derby entry and should be monitored in the market. FELIX THE POET shaped with lots of promise in a decent heat at Ascot on debut and will play a major role here if able to build on that now.
