Looked in need of the run on the back of a short break on soft ground at Thirsk (1m4f) two weeks ago. Ealrier form at Leicester makes this mark pretty appealing and can't discount on Tapeta debut.

First-time hood and soft lead resulted in a wide-margin success a Windsor (1m3½f, good to firm) two starts back. Rise in the weights & grade caught him out last time but early days and no saying when his progress will end. Goes up in trip.

Has shown glimmers of ability but looks a little one paced. This trip should help in that regard but needs to improve significantly on what we have seen so far to be winning this.

Progress has halted slightly the last twice having been progressive prior to those efforts. Slow pace probably didn't help last time and will be interesting to see if they try and make more use of his stamina here.

Only start here resulted in a shock win. Beaten a very long way on heavy ground at Haydock on handicap debut last time so needs to bounce back. Return to this surface could help and not without hope.

Verdict

Praeceps looks a thorough stayer and would have very strong claims in a strongly run affair. he may need to set his own pace here and may just get done for toe once again. DUBAI EMPIRE is the most likely to take advantage. Having needed the run on bad ground at Thirsk last time he should be much more at home under these conditions.
  1. Dubai Empire
  2. Praeceps
  3. Charlie D
