Scored at Windsor (1m3½f, good to soft), for the only time in handicap company, last year. 1lb lower here, and has claims based on his runs two and three starts ago. Below par at Goodwood latest, but not ruled out with 7lb claimed. Stays 1m5½f.
Best effort of three novice/maiden runs was his second, at Ffos Las (1m4f, good to soft). Makes handicap debut from a fair mark based on that effort. Clearly won't mind if it rains and longer trip also well worth a try. Not ruled out.
Three of his four wins have been over 1m4f. Handles good to soft, but best form on good/good to firm. 5lb higher than when scoring at Ripon (first-time blinkers) last month. Shapes as though he could see this out. Interesting.
Stays 1m5f, but yet to wholly convince over further. Acts on most ground. Well held over this trip at the stiffer Carlisle circuit last time (soft), when 1lb higher. Bit to prove.
2-8, both wins coming on good to firm/firm ground and the more recent, at Bath (1m5f), when 1lb lower. Went close back there (first-time cheekpieces) when 1lb higher last time. Not fully exposed and has claims, though bit to prove if it turns soft.
Exposed stayer who is without a win since 2015, but can be competitive from this sort of mark. Not ground dependent and goes well at this track, but probably has each-way claims.
Back-to-back Lingfield wins (good to firm) in July, the latter from 10lb lower. Still improving, stays well and beaten just 2L from this mark at Newcastle last time. Cheekpieces now tried and she could have a big say. Unproven on slower than good.
C&D scorer (good to firm) last month under this jockey, though better on AW. Ran well again here from this 4lb higher mark last time, only weakening late on. More needed, and wouldn't want rain.
Forecasts
Trouble And Strife (5/2), Di Alta (7/2), The Resdev Way (13/2), War Drums (7/1), Dr Richard Kimble (7/1), Sellingallthetime (8/1), Donnachies Girl (11/1), Morning Beauty (18/1)
Another interesting contest where the suggestion is DR RICHARD KIMBLE. The locally-trained gelding shapes as though this longer trip could suit and he looks well treated with his age allowance here. Morning Beauty is another three-year-old with claims, while like both those two Trouble And Strife can have a case made, but she is also unproven on softer ground, should conditions worsen. Sellingallthetime could be one for each-way players here again, while neither Di Alta and War Drums can be ruled out.
- Dr Richard Kimble
- Morning Beauty
- Sellingallthetime
