Well beaten in a couple of spring point-to-point starts and unlikely to play a role in the finish on debut here.
Good effort in finishing 10L second on good ground at Downpatrick when last seen in July. Interesting to see if he can repeat that effort in this contest.
Not much to shout about in a number of bumper starts since June. Will need to show significant improvement here if he is to play a role.
Third of 14 in bumper at Kilbeggan on debut before showing more promise at Bellewstown last month when a little over 2L adrift of the winner My Friend Aoife. Could be a leading contender in first-time cheekpieces.
By Dylan Thomas out of a Sinndar mare. Half-brother to game sorts Peter The Mayo Man and Kingston. Watching brief on debut.
Daughter of Robin Des Champs out of a Darazari mare. Last seen in a point-to-point in March 2017 but still worth a market check on debut for leading yard.
Daughter of Oscar out of an unraced half-sister to multiple winner Loose Performer. Beaten favourite on debut for leading bumper trainer/jockey combination and should put the record straight here.
Daughter of Amadeus Wolf out of a High Chaparral mare. Yard one from seven in bumpers this season, but unlikely to pull off a shock here.
Yeats mare is a half-sister to useful hurdler/chaser Aqua Dude. Encouraging debut at Bellewstown last month and needs to improve on that run to land a blow.
Runner-up at Clonmel in June behind a promising sort, perhaps flattered by that judged on subsequent efforts at Killarney and Tramore. Tough ask.
Forecasts
Kerry Star (5/4), Scotsman's Bay (9/2), Cara's Way (11/2), Trixie Mc (13/2), Vic's Little Miss (8/1), Greenandwhitearmy (14/1), Sinbad (20/1), Mitridante (25/1), An Fearchan (33/1), Kerry Dawn (50/1)
There should be no excuses for the Willie Mullins-trained KERRY STAR not to be able to build on a promising 1L defeat on debut at Sligo last month and land the closing contest here seeing off the expected attentions of the Barry Connell-owned Scotsman's Bay, Gordon Elliott debutante, Cara's Way and the potentially exciting Trixie Mc.
- Kerry Star
- Scotsman's Bay
