C&D winner who is currently racing 10lb higher than last winning mark but has conditions in his favour here and is entitled to make the shortlist.

In scintillating form on the Flat and over hurdles. His recent performances though have seen the game gelding rise 10lb in the weights and can go well again here.

Sligo handicap chase winner on heavy ground in September. Not seen since March and may need the run in first-time hood on return to action.

Scrambled home by a hair's breadth at Thurles in maiden hurdle 12-months ago. Largely well held since and looks a tall order on recent form.

Plenty to like about his second of 16 at Sligo last month and appears to be getting the hang of things right now.

Efforts so far over timber are decidedly underwhelming in a number of maiden hurdle starts. First-time blinkers unlikely to make much difference.

Forecasts

Boris Grishenko (9/4), Apparition (9/2), You Can't Catch Me (9/2), King's War (5/1), Ingleby Mackenzie (6/1), Pumbaa (11/1), Authorative (12/1), Maple Lawn (16/1), Glamorous Nellie (20/1)

Verdict

It is hard to look past the compelling consistency of the gallant INGLEBY MACKENZIE who has won three of his last four handicap hurdle starts and it may take a lot more than a 10lb rise in the weights to stop him in his current vein of form. The Gordon Elliott-trained Boris Grishenko appears to be finally improving and can pose the biggest danger while You Can't Catch Me and Kings War are more than capable of hitting the frame.
  1. Ingleby Mackenzie
  2. Boris Grishenko
  3. You Can't Catch Me
