Battle-hardened chaser who landed his second victory over fences in 34 starts in a Tramore 2m contest off a 5lb lower mark earlier this month. Beaten but not disgraced since and holds strong place claims here.
Dual Flat winner this year but has disappointed over hurdles on three occasions since May. Plenty to prove in this contest looking at exposed form.
Struggling seven-race chase maiden who finished over 14L adrift of Bellgrove at Tramore last month. Will need to improve to figure.
Has gone 14 runs since 2017 without recording a win but plenty decent efforts within that sequence, though has been well held over the summer. Tough ask and others preferred.
Solid and consistent of late hitting the frame in two of his last three starts over the larger obstacles including a win in a Downpatrick handicap chase in June off an 11lb lower mark. Likable type who should be in the mix.
Well held and down the field at 100/1 on each occasion in a couple of chase starts 11-months ago. Best monitored on handicap chase debut.
Six-race maiden over the larger obstacles. Off the track since September when well beaten 78L in a Kilbeggan handicap chase when last seen in June. Best avoided on return to action.
Nothing of note in a series of gloomy efforts over fences since May. Well below-par form looks set to continue here.
20 race maiden but put in one of his better efforts when finishing fourth over fences at Kilbeggan when last seen in April. Needs to show significant improvement in this company.
Gallant veteran who last won at here 11-months ago off a 1lb lower mark. Has failed to finish three of his last four starts and impossible to suggest following him.
Forecasts
Fairymount Boy (4/1), Island Master (9/2), Bellgrove (9/2), Tomcoole Lad (7/1), Solar Heat (8/1), Seskin Flyer (8/1), Rock On Barney (10/1), Jimmyjames (10/1), Coole Craft (12/1), Doolough Lad (25/1)
In a race where most are comfortable finishing down the field FAIRYMOUNT BOY is taken to get back to winning ways here with Adam Short taking off a valuable 5lb here. The improving nine-year-old can see off the challenge from the consistent Bellgrove and Solar Heat who is just 1lb higher than last winning mark.
- Fairymount Boy
- Bellgrove
- Solar Heat
