Stowaway gelding who is an eight-raced maiden over hurdles and others appear to be regressing at a quicker rate.

Not seen for getting on two years when second in a Thurles handicap hurdle over 2m. Worth a market check with significant jockey booking.

Made a winning debut over hurdles for new yard at Tramore recently, but that was a pretty weak affair before being subsequently beaten 10L on the Flat at the Curragh last month.

Second of 16 running Demi Plie to 2L last month. Appears to be open to plenty of improvement and one for the shortlist here.

Nothing of note in a number of dismal displays in three handicap hurdles since May. Out of form and hard to fancy.

Plenty to like about her third of 16 beaten 3L in a Sligo handicap hurdle on good ground over 2m last month. Holds strong place claims.

Grinditout39
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-2| J: A E Lynch| T: Mrs G Callaghan| OR:  85

Well beaten and generally disappointing in a number of starts since May when starting at large prices. Looks vulnerable in this company.

Some decent efforts on the Flat earlier this year and has not been disgraced on a couple of occasions running over this trip since. First-time cheekpieces may assist.

Miss Mcilroy39
Age: 6|  Weight: 9-11| J: Phillip Enright| T: G T Lynch| OR:  80
20/1
Well held when finishing down the field in a number of dispirited performances over hurdles. Needs to show significant improvement in this company.

Forecasts

Banjo (5/1), Derby De Thaix (5/1), I'm Serious (7/1), Wait Here (7/1), Callthebarman (7/1), Effernock Lad (8/1), Kansas Kid (8/1), Rathnaleen Girl (11/1), Teqany (14/1), Baby Bellini (16/1), Riverrainshine (16/1), Miss Mcilroy (20/1), Lambs Lane (25/1), Our Bonus (28/1), Golden Surprise (33/1), Grinditout (40/1)

Verdict

Although well beaten on recent starts BANJO can get off the mark here at the ninth time of asking for connections with a number of conditions to suit here. The Denis Hogan-trained I'm Serious and Tramore maiden winner last month Teqany should be on the premises while Effernock Lad and Callthebarman could out-run their odds.
  1. Banjo
  2. I'm Serious
  3. Teqany
