Followed up AW debut success by running Signora Cabello to 1¼L at York. Well behind that rival in the Queen Mary when drawn on the wrong side and she sets the bar high in this.
Daughter of Moohaajim bought for €20,000 at the breeze-up sales in May. Dam won over 7f yet she had the pace to win over an extended 5f at Brighton. That did not look a strong race but she appeared to have something in hand.
Cannot be discounted judged on his debut run but he failed to build on that next time. Has been absent for three months since so possible something was amiss.
Casamento colt who fetched €16,000 as a yearling and is a half-brother to five winners from 7f to 1m4f. Has shaped as though he is still green and in need of further than this.
Has run to a similar level on each start and the drop to 5f looks a good move as she was a bit too keen last time. Should be capable of making the frame at the very least.
By Slade Power out of 5f Listed winner Sugar Free, and a half-sister to a couple of winners. Holds an entry in Tattersalls Sales race at Newmarket in October and she has left the impression on both starts that there is better to come.
Has barely beaten a rival in her two starts to date and highly tried here. Looks one for a nursery later in the year.
Faded close home over 6f last time so worth a go at this trip. However, an official rating of 54 sets her a huge task in this company.
Forecasts
Daphinia (10/11), Irene May (5/2), Dawn Affair (5/1), Moveonup (14/1), Obaby (16/1), Feel The Noize (16/1), Nervous Nerys (25/1), Pageant Master (40/1)
DAPHINIA may have only cost £8,000 but she finished second to a top class filly at York having beaten the useful Deia Glory into third on her debut. She has not been seen since finding herself on the wrong side of the track at Royal Ascot and this looks a good opportunity to resume winning ways. Dawn Affair looks the most likely one to benefit if the selection falters as she has run to a similar level one each start and the allowance she gets should make her more competitive than Irena May who beat a modest lot on her debut, albeit in style.
- Daphinia
- Dawn Affair
- Irene May
