Left Gordon Elliott for this yard and produced couple of fair efforts at Roscommon and Galway before bolting up at Bellewstown two weeks ago. Hit with an 8lb rise for that but worth every pound and has won here before.
Improving all the time over hurdles and won a maiden hurdle at Bellewstown when last seen two months ago. Starts life in handicaps off a very realistic mark and should be a leading contender for yard that won this race last year.
Improved under both codes of late and well backed to win on the flat two starts back. 9lb higher than for last hurdles win but improved since and capable of going well with fitness assured.
Having been out of form he returned with a much better effort over fences last time. Races off a much lower hurdles mark which gives him claims here if able to back that up now.
Has not been able to get his head in front since 2015 and having been mostly chasing of late he wa unable to take advantage of a good opportunity last time. This is tougher and minor role likely.
Ran well when a close second at Sligo (2m5f, good) last time. Nudged up 4lb for not winning but step up in trip should suit and has sound claims of running well once again.
Been running well on the flat this summer and was a good winner at Galway last time. Back over hurdles today and makes handicap debut. Opening mark asks for more but still improvement in the locker.
Went very close on penultimate start at Punchestown over fences back in April. Returned from a break to run fairly well at Galway last time and now reverts to hurdles off a lower mark.
Missed all of 2017 and three runs so far this year have been poor. Dropping in the weights but hard to fancy at present until showing more.
Been mixing chasing and hurdling of late and not in the best of form under either code. Needs a sharp return to form to be involved here.
Decent chaser who hasn't been in the best of form of late over the larger obstacles. Racing of a much lower hurdles mark here but will need to put best foot forward to take advantage.
Goes well on heavy ground and bounced back to form last time when a close-up fourth at Ballinrobe last time. This extra yardage should help and should have pretty sound claims of running well.
Won a maiden hurdle at Ballinrobe back in May. First handicap effort was only fair and tailed off over fences last time. Still has scope to improve in this sphere.
Winner of a maiden hurdle at Downpatrick in July. Not so good on handicap debut at Tramore next time. Looks owners second string on jockey bookings but still has potential for improvement.
Forecasts
Great Trango (2/1), Blast Of Koeman (6/1), Touch Base (8/1), Hareth (8/1), Dawn Raider (9/1), Dorans River (9/1), Easy Gold (10/1), Killaro Boy (12/1), Kilcarry Bridge (14/1), Vent De La Cote (25/1), Hugo 'n Taz (25/1), Last Encounter (25/1), Moylisha Tim (33/1), Showem Silver (50/1)
Dorans River won with some authority last time and is very much respected under a penalty. Easy Gold has untapped potential at this level and is not easy to pass over but we will give a chance to VENT DE LA COTE. The selection should relish this return to 3m and is still on a nice mark.
- Vent De La Cote
- Easy Gold
- Dorans River
