1-34 up to now and is typical of handicapper who paid the price for the early promise shown as a juvenile. Occasional hints that he still has a race within him but has been difficult to predict. Drop to this grade may suit but others more consistent
C&D winner last November but lightly raced since. Something amiss last time when virtually pulled up; but fair chance on previous effort when second at Leicester in July. First-time headgear an interesting addition for a race like this.
A string of poor recent efforts leaves the gelding with a lot to prove just now. Others readily preferred.
Winner of one of his three previous starts at this course but still open to debate as to whether 7f is an ideal trip for him. Comes with risks attached over the distance. Wide draw a problem too.
Solid claims on the pick of his form when with James Fanshawe but difficult to equate the worth of his solitary run this year in a five-furlong handicap over in Greece in March. Too much guesswork involved to give the gelding a solid recommendation.
Winner of a 7f handicap at Lingfield a year ago but not seen much subsequent action and has disappointed in low-key races. Blinkers fitted for the first time but a virtual transformation from last time out is required.
Stable has a good record in claimers but given the filly drops into this grade after just one previous run there have to be reservations about her adding to the statistics in a positive manner. Best watched this time around.
Ideally drawn for his style of running and given a live chance of adding to his tally in this grade. A grand servant to connections and one who holds solid claims in this company. Merits serious consideration.
Struggled in handicaps after winning at bath in June and another that is yet to win over this intermediate trip. Others more convincing.
Lightly raced and drops into this grade after just two modest starts in handicaps. Already looks regressive and probably safe to leave out fo the betting plans this time around.
Placed in three of her five previous starts at this course (twice over C&D), so dangerous to underestimate despite a recent downturn in form. Yet to impress when wearing a visor though.
Can race with the pace and probably a little better than recent form figures would suggest. Still a lowly-rated individual and she needs to up her game a touch if she's going to hold her own on these terms. Place claims at best.
Forecasts
Rene Mathis (2/1), Tuscany (3/1), Tigerwolf (11/2), Toofi (6/1), Yogiyogiyogi (12/1), Vibes (20/1), Raven's Raft (25/1), King Of Naples (25/1), Raggs And Riches (33/1), Huntsmans Close (40/1), Pesky Wabbitt (40/1), Mossy's Lodge (66/1)
A weak claimer that could be well within the grasp of RENE MATHIS, who has already scored at this level this season and has been handed every chance of going close from his racing weight. Raven's Raft has snippets of form that give her place claims but she lacks consistency and comes with risks attached on these terms. Tuscany has a but to prove after virtually being pulled up near the finish last time out but also has feasible place claims when the best of his form is taken into account. Toofi and Tigerwolf are others to monitor in the betting.
- Rene Mathis
- Raven's Raft
- Tuscany
