Classy 144 rated hurdler was narrowly beaten on chase debut at Uttoxeter despite jumping erratically. Better although far from foot perfect here latest beating El Terremoto by 16L. That rival better off but can still confirm the form if he jumps ok.

2016 hurdles winner at Cork over 2m has not added to that since. Promise of seconds in beginners chases at Tramore and Wexford petered out a little but has certainly shown enough to be involved on first start for this stable.

Verdict

GOLDEN BIRTHDAY was a useful hurdler and he has made a decent start over fences despite jumping sketchily in both starts. Only two finished when he won here so it's hard to gauge the form but El Terromoto the other finisher had already won so he did well to comfortably beat that re-opposing rival who is 9lb better off today. Cotton Jenny had some promising pieces of form over fences in Ireland and also has more experience than the top two so these factors combined with a hefty weight advantage make her a serious rival.
