Age: 6|  Weight: 11-12| J: J B Kane(4)| T: H P Finegan
20/1
Modest form in a number of point-to-point starts since the turn of the year. Improved to be third in bumper at Downpatrick in June, off since but may build on that now going hurdling.
2
Horse silk
Lord In Redt87
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-12| J: A W Short(2)| T: N Meade| OR:  108
7/1
Beaten favourite in a Down Royal handicap hurdle in May, very poor following month over 3m at Roscommon and plenty to prove dropped in distance now.
3
Horse silk
Rimshot100
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-12| J: Mr L P Gilligan(4)| T: R Donohoe
66/1
An 11-race maiden on the Flat, well held at Gowran Park in May when last out and wants to improve generously for introduction of hurdles.

Horse silk
Silver Start11
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-12| J: C J Orr(4)| T: G Elliott
7/4
Typically improved in trio of maiden hurdle starts over variety of trips since joining Gordon Elliott. Placed in previous two starts and can be in the frame here down to 2m.
5
Horse silk
13/2
Yeats gelding has repeatedly shaped with promise in six bumpers runs. Makes hurdles bow now and market check should prove informative.
6
Horse silk
Visioman113
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-12| J: D Robinson| T: H De Bromhead| OR:  117| D
7/4
Just denied on handicap hurdle bow over C&D in April, duly went one better at Clonmel in May only to lose the race for having a banned substance in his sample. Big player here.
7
Horse silk
50/1
Well beaten in a Listed bumper at Limerick and similar tale in hurdles starts either side of a six-month layoff. Not spotted since May and others preferred now.
8
Horse silk
33/1
Mare beaten combined 65L in maiden hurdle at Wexford (2m4f) and Cork (2m) previously and well held in Tramore bumper latest.
9
Horse silk
Inishbelt17
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-5| J: Ricky Doyle(2)| T: C Bowe
25/1
Modest in point-to-point starts since March but caught the eye when second of nine in novice hurdle at Downpatrick (2m3f, good) on rules bow in July. Faded from the front since at Sligo and questions
10
Horse silk
25/1
Mixed bag in bumpers, more poor efforts than good ones. Didn't stand out as winner in waiting on hurdles bow at Down Royal last week and more needed now.
11
Horse silk
Lill Smitht1
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-5| J: M Browne(4)| T: N Meade
25/1
Gold Well mare, represents Noel Meade on debut here sporting a tongue-tie, worth a betting check though has some useful rivals to contend with.
12
Horse silk
66/1
Largely disappointing in three maiden hurdles so far, despite glimmer of promise at Limerick on middle start. Faller at Killarney last time having gone off 100/1 and others more likely now.
13
Horse silk
Rathnaleen Swift378
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-5| J: B Browne(2)| T: P Byrne
100/1
Daughter of Oscar who cost €2,500 as a 4yo. Not the most eye-catching pedigree or connections and was tailed off here recently over C&D on debut.

Forecasts

Silver Star (7/4), Visioman (7/4), The Abbey (13/2), Lord In Red (7/1), Happy Lad (20/1), Lill Smith (25/1), Krujers Girl (25/1), Inishbel (25/1), Brideview Weir (33/1), Alice Johnston (50/1), Peggyclare (66/1), Rimshot (66/1), Rathnaleen Swift (100/1)

Verdict

VISIOMAN races here only because he lost a Clonmel contest in May after a banned substance was found in his sample. He's got to have standout claims of re-registering his breakthrough success now. Silver Star drops in distance having seemingly been outstayed last time at Downpatrick and will give the likely favourite something to think about. The Abbey has shown enough in bumpers to suggest a solid start timber is likely.

  2. Silver Star
  3. The Abbey
