Useful sort on his day, twice a hurdles winner back in 2016 but no win since then. Close second to the useful Hassle at Market Rasen in July says he's still got it in him to win races, but this trip an unknown and he clearly comes with risks.

Just the one win in 14 starts (when with Saeed Bin Suroor) and hasn't looked like improving that record recently, with the step up to this trip last time producing no better an effort. Others make more appeal.

Found a weak race over hurdles at Plumpton in April (when with Alan King) but isn't progressive and has been a big disappointment on last two starts. Hopes pinned on new stable being able to turn him around.

Had a good spell in the spring of 2017 but since then has found getting his head in front tricky. Back to form at Ayr last time but the worry is this trip, as he's never tried it before. Probability call is to look elsewhere for the winner.

Another for whom this trip is a step somewhat into the unknown, winner over 9f at Musselburgh in June but was punished for it by the handicapper and still looks a few pounds too high. Others preferred.

Irish raider that's best known for his exploits on the sand at Dundalk but is effective on turf as well, and was far from disgraced when third at Ayr last time out. Has little in hand off this mark but more likely to run his race than a few.

Second start for this yard after becoming disappointing in Meydan, but did no better on first start for them (after a wind operation) at Hamilton, looking hard work. Not difficult to look elsewhere.

Best effort of four so far came at Nottingham in July when trying to make all and was only picked off late on. Below that on handicap debut at Newmarket but this is easier and it's early days yet. Folly to discount her from the reckoning.

Five wins from 45 starts, so not exactly a prolific winner, and despite some fairly weak efforts lately he's not getting that much help from the handicapper either. Plenty to find in present frame of mind.

Easy winner at Pontefract last September (soft ground) but in two starts since then has only beaten one horse home. Hard to know what to expect now, although clearly the more rain the better. Risky.

Seems to be very slowly finding a bit of form, third at Doncaster over 10f last time out (although well beaten) suggesting this extra furlong will help. Could challenge for the places if taking another step forward.

Hard to win with, but is at least fine with these conditions as he was a reasonable third over C&D in soft ground here a fortnight ago. Cheekpieces on there are retained, which could help, so not out of it if repeating the dose.

Pontefract winner in May and only 2lb higher here, so reasonably handicapped, but some moderate efforts since then need forgiving and she was a disappointing favourite here last time out. Others make more appeal.

Nicely backed to win at Nottingham in August and duly got home by a neck under a power-packed De Sousa drive, looking like he had little in hand of the handicapper. Lesser effort at Catterick last time and now needs to bounce back.

Forecasts

Snookered (15/8), Reassurance (11/2), Reveleon (7/1), Misscarlett (10/1), Savannah Moon (10/1), Rockwood (14/1), Crushed (14/1), Maghfoor (16/1), Gworn (20/1), Six Silver Lane (25/1), Aljunood (40/1), Craggaknock (50/1), Mr Sundowner (50/1), Vivernus (100/1)

Verdict

A tricky finale and not one to have too strong an opinion on, with few having solid profiles. In the hope that the cheekpieces work a second time, SNOOKERED is given a try. He's hard to win with, but that goes for plenty of these, and if he can just build a little on his last effort over C&D, he can go close. Reassurance may go better in these calmer waters and it's far too soon to be writing her off. No surprise if she ran better here, and the consistent Six Silver Lane can take home a prize as well.
