Won three chase wins in a row last season, but has not won over hurdles since 2014. Not badly handicapped, though and ran his best race for a while at Stratford last time. Capable on a going day.
Won off 5lb higher at Market Rasen last September which completed a hat-trick. Four efforts so far this year have been very underwhelming but handicapped to bounce back now.
Is having a wonderful season having won four of his last six races. Ran a cracker in defeat last time at Downpatrick and is now another 6lb higher. Hard to say when his progression will end and another bold show likely.
Improved efforts the last twice since the addition of blinkers. Much too strong for Exitas at Stratford last week and how sound claims of following up now he's found his form again.
Won a weak novice event at Kempton in May before shaping with plenty of promise on handicap debut at Cartmel last time. Dropped 3lb and a suspicion this track will suit much better and has sound claims of running well.
Step up to 3m on debut for this yard last time did not go well. Quickly drops back in trip here but need to see plenty more before he becomes of interest.
Well beaten in all five starts so far over hurdles (three of them in Ireland). Mark is dropping rapidly and Richard Johnson keeps the faith but others preferred for now.
Forecasts
The Jam Man (10/11), Chieftain's Choice (9/4), Exitas (5/1), Shazzamataz (14/1), Get Home Now (25/1), Uno Mas (50/1), Torrent Des Mottes (100/1)
Chieftan's Choice bounced back to form at Stratford last week and has sound claims of following up under a penalty. The blinkers have worked the trick with him and he is respected. There is now saying when the progression will end though for THE JAM MAN who is now 35lb higher since his winning run started. He seems to have found another good opening and can win again.
