Enjoyed a fine summer following up three seconds with wins at Cartmel and Bangor both times impressively and really seems to have got his act together now. Raised 8lb now but that unlikely to stop him and will be hard to beat here.

Former German flat horse was progressing really promisingly over hurdles with wins at Uttoxeter and Worcester before taking a nasty fall at Perth. Off over a year since so presume he was injured there and fitness now the doubt.

Unplaced but not disgraced in three staying contests on the flat this summer. Over two years since he last raced over hurdles, mixing flat and chases since. Best form would give him a chance but others more persuasive.

Followed up two placed efforts with a win at Market Rasen when last seen although a skirmish initiated by him jumping left into rivals at the last may have helped. Clearly in good order and has to be respected in receipt of weight from all.

Forecasts

Lovato (11/8), Beach Break (2/1), Collodi (9/2), Cape Caster (6/1)

Verdict

BEACH BREAK was running with merit despite jumping errors before wins the last twice where those faults have been largely eradicated. Improving rapidly now and handicapper not been overly harsh so he has a fine chance to land the hat-trick here. Collodi won last time out in quite dramatic circumstances and Neil Mulholland's charge should go well again having only been raised 3lb. Lovato looked a hurdler going places last summer and can hopefully regain the thread soon now back on the track.
  1. Beach Break
  2. Collodi
  3. Lovato
