Made a promising handicap debut at Perth in June (4th) shaping better than his final placing would suggest although he did look a little stretched by that test (2m4f) and that may be the case here. Of interest back over 2m.

Fair in bumpers when trained in Ireland his 2nd to a much improved sort at Newton Abbot reads well in the context of this contest. Given plenty to do on that occasion but off the same mark here and unlikely to meet an equally progressive sort.

Returns from a very long break now making his debut for a new stable having previously been with Warren Greatrex. Has gained some respite in the interim from the handicapper but would need a positive signal from the mark to support.

Interesting change of stable having previously won a bumper for Jim Goldie in May 2015 although her form over hurdles has been moderate to say the least. Joins a stable that does well here and would be one to note for a market move.

Travelled well in a C&D handicap recently making smooth headway to finish runner-up off this same mark. Not the most consistent though and has so far struggled to put together back-to-back efforts; dangerous if he does.

Relatively useful on the Flat in his younger days (six-time winner) he's yet to score over hurdles (0-12) and looks modest in this sphere. His recent hurdles starts haven't been that inspiring although the handicapper allows him more slack here.

Won three times on the Flat when trained in France but has shown little since then over hurdles resulting in a 0-11 record. His two runs back from a break have shown very little and others are far more persuasive.

Winner on the Flat for Richard Hannon over 1m2f but has looked far from a natural over hurdles so far over last winter. Now goes handicapping over obstacles on better ground with cheekpieces on; would need a big improvement to figure.

Dollar And A Dreamt11
Age: 9|  Weight: 10-3| J: S Mulqueen(3)| T: M Mullineaux| OR:  77

His losing run continues to build although he did take a step back in the right direction last time when 3rd over C&D with a tongue-tie reapplied. Didn't see the race out as well at the first two (Kingston 2nd); place chance at best.

Forecasts

Kingston (7/2), Friary Gold (5/1), About Glory (5/1), Act Of Supremacy (6/1), Boogie Life (7/1), Rocket Ronnie (8/1), Karamoko (9/1), Dollar And A Dream (9/1), Royal Sea (25/1), Sackfullofdreams (50/1)

Verdict

The unexposed Karamoko made an encouraging start to his handicap career at Perth when he was last seen and should be on the premises here although there could be a doubt about him over this trip with 2m4f stretching him last time. FRIARY GOLD was unlucky to bump into a much improved Dan Skelton inmate last time and there doesn’t look to be anything of a similar ilk in this. Both Boogie Life and Act Of Supremacy would be worth noting if there was a market move in their direction with Kingston respected on the back of his C&D runner-up slot last time.
  1. Friary Gold
  2. Kingston
  3. Karamoko
