Remains a maiden after nine hurdle runs. Third of 14 in novice hurdle at Kilbeggan (2m, good) this month, typically not finding as much as hoped in the finish. Represents top connections.
Modest sort on the Flat, fell early doors in hurdling debut at Ballinrobe last month, hood now added to the first-time tongue tie that had been deployed there.
Son of Central Park bought for €11,000 as a three-year-old. Could beat only one rival home in a bumper at Downpatrick on debut this month, doesn't look an obvious type reverting to hurdles for a winning start.
By Scorpion out of a Flemensfirth mare second on sole point-to-point start in December. Two runs in bumpers disappointing, including when beaten more 100L at Tramore this month. Must improve going hurdling.
Improving with experience over timber, beaten just over 4L on fourth start at Kilbeggan (2m2f, good) six days ago. One of the more likely sorts in this line-up it seems.
Won only point to point start and has shown some ability in two starts in bumpers. Bit disappointing at Galway in hurdles bow (2m5f, yielding to soft) early this month, possibly can improve on that run.
Some promise on debut in a Naas bumper in January on testing ground, but hasn't really built on that since and two disappointing attempts over timber so far. Off since May.
Struggled in a couple of bumpers in 2016 and it was a similar story in pair of hurdles starts in the spring at Tramore (2m5f, heavy) and Sligo (2m, yielding) back under rule. Given a break since, hard to enthuse about.
Useful efforts already this summer in maiden hurdles at Limerick and Gowran Park are enough to put her in the picture and again ran well over 2m5f at Sligo nine days ago when 3½L third of 10. Player again.
Forecasts
The Big Lense (1/1), Kolumbus (5/2), Yeats Mardy (5/1), Ozzie's Way (6/1), Tiantu (20/1), Longtide (33/1), Kristofferson (50/1), Sean Thyne (50/1), Five Gems (100/1)
Kolumbus hasn’t been denied chances to get off the mark and, while respected, is prone to finding less than anticipated when push comes to shove. YEATS MARDY on the other hand has posted a trio of decent efforts over timber this summer, including at Sligo last time, and might get her head in front here. Ozzie's Way continues to improve and is can get some place money.
