No win since 2015 but shaping well enough in three starts since joining this handler, including at Roscommon (3m, good) in July, pulled up most recently over fences at Tramore, does run from lower mark in this sphere.

Would have claims on Fairyhouse second over 2m6f in April but two efforts since, latest on the Flat at Galway after 95-day break have fallen well short of what is required.

Edged out here over extended 2m in July, then suffered another agonising second at Galway start of this month. Creeping up the ratings without winning but remains of plenty interest going up in distance.

Graineyhillb9

Typically improved over hurdles since joining Gordon Elliott and made it three wins from seven starts over timber this year when scoring over 2m5f (good) at Sligo last time. Has been raised 9lb in the ratings for his troubles.

Temperamental sort, hasn't been complying of late over hurdles or fences and form figures that read P-UUBP aren't very inspiring.

Just 2-23 over timber but ran well in competitive Galway Festival handicap (2m, soft) last time and fair effort on the Flat at Killarney since. Should be in the mix back over jumps.

Age: 5|  Weight: 11-4| J: D N Russell| T: G Elliott| OR:  122

Winner of Down Royal maiden hurdle in June over 2m but couldn't justify favouritism next time at Roscommon and well held since at the Galway Festival and Kilbeggan, more needed. Second runner for Gordon Elliott.

Good effort at Tramore this month over 2m on good ground, likely has more to give going back up in trip based on Clonmel effort in May. Strong contender with repeat of that effort.

My Manekinekoh19
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-4| J: Ricky Doyle(5)| T: J Nash| OR:  122
40/1
Three-time hurdles winner, went close on New Year's Day 2017 at Musselburgh but two further efforts over timber in Ireland last year were tame and pulled up back from 437 days off at Kilbeggan this month over this trip.

Killiney Courtt26

Ended a barren spell when winning by 10L at Downpatrick in June (2m2½f, good), perhaps asking a lot in valuable handicap at Galway Festival having gone up 10lb in sole outing since, this is a more realistic assignment.

You Can't Catch Met6
Age: 9|  Weight: 10-11| J: C A Landers(5)| T: K Purcell| OR:  115| D

Easy winner over this trip at Clonmel in June, also won on the Flat that month, versatile performer has run well enough in three recent starts in all disciplines, latest being a 5L defeat over fences at Kilbeggan last week. Far from out of this.

Glan Y Gorsp,t48
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-9| J: Miss A B O'Connor(7)| T: A Fleming| OR:  113

Has repeatedly shown promise in maiden hurdles over timber, without getting head in front. One to note in betting now tackling a handicap for the first time in this sphere.

Gold Sealt21
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-2| J: Mark Walsh| T: J P O'Brien| OR:  112
9/2
Maiden hurdle winner over 2m at Roscommon in June, game scorer at Sligo (2m, good) in a handicap this month and interesting tackling this longer trip for the first time having been put up 3lb.

Forecasts

Gold Seal (9/2), Miles To Memphis (11/2), Runyon Rattler (7/1), You Can't Catch Me (7/1), Killiney Court (7/1), Boot Camp (8/1), Stormey (8/1), Graineyhill (10/1), Jarob (20/1), Glan Y Gors (20/1), Mr Picotee (25/1), Lion In His Heart (33/1), My Manekineko (40/1)

Verdict

Graineyhill has typically improved since joining Gordon Elliott and gained a third hurdles win at Sligo last time. A 9lb ratings hike might just be enough to stop him this time though. Gold Seal stuck on gamely to win last time at Sligo and is worth considering upped 3lb and tackling this longer trip while You Can't Catch Me, Killiney Court and handicap debutant Glan Y Gors could be up to getting involved. MR PICOTEE ran well enough at Tramore this month and has scope for doing better back over a longer trip based on his Clonmel run earlier in the year.
  1. Mr Picotee
  2. Gold Seal
  3. Killiney Court
