Some promise in debut at Leicester when third of four despite racing keenly. Done too much too early in both subsequent races however at Haydock and Chelmsford. Track may suit his style but no easy task with this weight.
Steadily improved in each of his three races to date with the latest seeing him a close-up third at Wolverhampton. Steps up to 7f for first time here and bred to appreciate it so expecting a bold bid on handicap debut.
Not necessarily made the improvement you would like to see in his three races so far. Didn't last home under front-running tactics here and couldn't get involved when held up latest at Ffos Las. Others more appealing.
Only beaten 1L into fourth at Ascot on handicap debut before running away with a 7lb apprentice at Newmarket and paid the price late on. Ascot form shows he is capable and jockey booking here a huge positive for his chances.
Showed some ability without seriously threatening in first two races over 7f before not staying 1m½f at Nottingham last time out. This should be more suitable on handicap debut but will need to improve.
Having showed little in his first two starts over 6f this gelding made a better fist of things latest when upped to 7f at Chelmsford (AW) eventually finishing fourth. Had a break since and could have improvement in his locker.
Stepped up to 7f for his handicap debut at Musselburgh he duly obliged under front-running tactics. Raised 3lb for that but 7lb apprentice negates that so has to have a big chance here providing jockey gets the fractions right.
Won two of his three for this yard, a Ffos Las handicap and Catterick seller latest with a third at Newmarket sandwiched in-between. 5lb higher than Newmarket and 7lb higher than Ffos Las so more needed but progressive enough.
Handicap debutant has been beaten 10L plus in all three starts to date, all over 7f with two on AW. Hard to recommend her on evidence so far.
Experienced gelding has run well the last twice in handicaps at Lingfield (fourth) and Kempton (third). Didn't seem to last 7f earlier this season in only previous try but worth another go and suitability to it will determine his chance.
Forecasts
Call Him Al (4/1), Capla Gilda (5/1), Pirate (11/2), Valentino Sunrise (6/1), Royal Variety (6/1), Cracking Speed (7/1), Love Your Work (10/1), Majestic Mac (11/1), So Hi Class (20/1), Sukalia (25/1)
CALL HIM AL showed a likable attitude when battling back to win at Musselburgh under Paul Hanagan and with today's rider taking 7lb off his back Richard Fahey's colt has an excellent chance to follow up. Pirate rates a big danger despite having looked an extremely difficult rider under Thore Hammer Hansen last time with today's jockey likely to be capable of restraining the colt to show his true ability. Richard Hannon's other runner Cracking Speed mustn't be forgotten either and he looks the sort going into handicaps at the right time.
- Call Him Al
- Pirate
- Cracking Speed
