Gamut gelding whose dam was lightly raced in bumpers/over hurdles. Has failed to build on a couple of promising starts last term and readily passed over here.
Point-to-point winner at the third attempt on yielding-to-soft ground in April last year. Beaten favourite on below-par debut run at the Galway festival but appears to have been found an ideal opportunity to get off the mark here.
Gelding by Muhtathir out of a Barathea mare. Closely related to Twinlight and Pacha Du Polda. Nothing of note in a couple of dour bumper runs to date and readily opposable here.
Dylan Thomas gelding bought for €100,000 at the sales last year. Half-brother to a number of winners but was well beaten last time out in a Fairyhouse bumper when last seen in April.
Poor form in three point-to-point starts failing to finish in a couple of spins over 3m before two heavy defeats recently over hurdles. Hard to fancy.
Forecasts
Royal Rendezvous (4/6), Hang In There (7/2), Whoshotthesheriff (4/1), Peace Party (12/1), Magistralis (33/1), Nellys Robin (100/1)
Trainer Willie Mullins appears to have found a fitting opportunity for the Kings Theatre gelding, ROYAL RENDEZVOUS to put the tribulations of his Galway festival debut behind him by landing the closing race of the day in this contest. Gordon Elliott's four-year-old son of Dylan Thomas, Whoshotthesheriff can follow the selection home, while Hang In There should be noted on belated debut.
