Weatherbys Racing Bank Supreme Stakes (Group 3)

Off time: 16:12 | Winning time: 1m 33.60s

(8)

Breton Rock⁸

Age: 8| Weight: 9-3| J: Harry Bentley| T: D M Simcock| OR: 113| CD

9/4

Grand servant to connections has run really well in last two starts finishing third to Sir Dancealot in Group Two's here (C&D) and at Newbury. As good as ever based on those efforts so big chance with this slight drop in class.

Form: 450-533

(1)

Dream Of Dreams⁸

Age: 4| Weight: 9-3| J: A Kirby| T: Sir Michael Stoute| OR: 110| D

7/4

Steady improver has run career bests in each of his last two with latest second to Sir Dancealot (Breton Rock third) in a Newbury Group Two a fine run. Not seen much of him on undulating tracks but that the only possible weakness he has.

Form: 1-75532

(5)

Cardsharp²⁹

Age: 3| Weight: 8-12| J: F Norton| T: C & M Johnston| OR: 111

11/1

Group Two winning, Group One placed two-year-old ran well over 7f in Bunbury Cup where he gave weight to all three ahead of him before disappointing latest. Not the most consistent but best form would give him a shout.

Form: 610640

Good Effort¹⁹

Age: 3| Weight: 8-12| J: Edward Greatrex| T: I Mohammed & J Santos| OR: 93| D

16/1

Bolted up in a Newbury handicap latest over 7f which was his first victory. Trainer elects to come here rather than deal with 14lb hike in the handicaps but it looks a huge ask.

Form: 7431

(3)

Raid^h¹¹³

Age: 3| Weight: 8-12| J: Oisin Murphy| T: D M Simcock| OR: 108

9/2

Just had the three races, winning a maiden before finishing fourth in the Greenham (7f Newbury) and eighth in the 2000 Guineas. Had a lengthy absence since but remains a bright prospect. Fitness the question mark here.

Form: 1-48

(9)

Anna Nerium⁶⁵

Age: 3| Weight: 8-9| J: Tom Marquand| T: R Hannon| OR: 107| D

7/1

Three-time winner ran on well in an Epsom Group Three over 1m½f between two midfield runs in fillies Group Ones. Return to 7f shouldn't be a big issue and in receipt of all of the allowances she could make a bold bid.

Form: 19-1728

Forecasts

Dream Of Dreams (7/4), Breton Rock (9/4), Raid (9/2), Anna Nerium (7/1), Dutch Connection (8/1), Zhui Feng (10/1), Cardsharp (11/1), Dancing Star (12/1), Salateen (14/1), Good Effort (16/1)

There was very little between DREAM OF DREAMS and Breton Rock in the Hungerford Stakes just eight days ago and the pair could well fight this slightly easier race out. The former came out on top there and still seems to be on the up so he gets the nod over his older rival. Anna Nerium is an intriguing contender in receipt of the three-year-old and filly allowances.
