Two wins in May, one on the AW and one at Chepstow over 1m, has been improving since in defeat and stands strong chance of getting back to winning ways here.

Poor strike rate (2-44) and hasn't been running to his best form of late, others have more striking credentials.

Formerly trained by Clive Cox and won twice for him over a mile. Sixth of 10 in handicap at Wolverhampton (7f, AW) 26 days ago on stable bow. Given a chance by the handicapper and should be sharper with that run behind him.

Multiple C&D winner, likes to get on with things in front and not guaranteed to get it all his own way. Can't be ruled out.

Kalagia9

Another front-runner, wins have all come in small fields. Not assured of getting the box seat and likely has to pull out all the stops to win.

Optimum Timeb17
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-8| J: M Dwyer| T: Eve Johnson Houghton| OR:  68| CD
7/2
Perfect record here, with two wins in two starts. Ran well enough at Brighton last time over a mile having started slowly.

Forecasts

Maypole (7/4), Optimum Time (7/2), Kalagia (4/1), The Warrior (13/2), Sir Plato (7/1), Cape Icon (14/1)

Verdict

Sir Plato and Kalagia both like to get on with things and might find their respective chances compromised by each other here. Optimum Time has a perfect record here at Windsor (2-2) and is respected but this might go to MAYPOLE, who won twice in May and has essentially carried on improving in defeat since. This is a good opportunity for him. Cape Icon should be sharper after a recent debut for new connections.
  1. Maypole
  2. Optimum Time
  3. Sir Plato
