Has had four runs back since a long absence and whilst the first two were promising, the last two have been really poor. Cannot be trusted at present and best watched for now.

Won a class 5 contest at Bath off a 3lb lower mark three starts back. Beaten a very long way on two subsequent starts and impossible to fancy on that evidence returned to the AW.

Won at Newcastle (2m½f, AW) three starts back off a 2lb lower mark. Tailed off in both subsequent runs and needs to bounce right back to form to have any chance here. Cheekpieces go on first time.

Fitting of the visor did the trick when recording back-to-back wins at Catterick and Sandown. Couldn't cope with latest rise in the weights at Musselburgh upped to 2m last time and this slight drop back in trip should suit.

Won two of his last four starts in handicaps and is progressing. Slightly disappointing he couldn't follow-up at Salisbury last time but highly likely there is more to come and very much a leading player.

Won a three-runner handicap with ease at Pontefract before being comfortably beaten by Praeceps at Salisbury last time. Has a huge pull in the weights with that rival now and should be very competitive.

Slowly getting the hang of things and plugged on for remote fifth on handicap debut at Newbury (1m4f, good to firm) last time. Cheekpieces go on first time and moves up in trip now. Interesting.

Forecasts

Artarmon (2/1), Praeceps (11/4), Construct (4/1), Konigin (9/2), Needs To Be Seen (13/2), Sugarloaf Mountain (12/1), Agent Gibbs (14/1), Croquembouche (33/1)

Verdict

From their clash at Salisbury last month Praeceps and Construct should be pretty evenly matched and are both leading contenders for sure. Preference though is for KONIGIN who has shaped like this sort of trip would really suit and she is taken to get off the mark her for her shrewd handler with the cheekpieces added for the first time.
  1. Konigin
  2. Praeceps
  3. Construct
