33/1 first time out winner at Yarmouth hasn't built on that in three subsequent starts after being hit with an 8lb rise from the handicapper. Not received any of that weight back yet so appears high enough for now.
Improved in each of her three runs in novice company before scoring on her handicap debut over 1m1f latest at Sandown. 4lb rise appears quite lenient and she should improve further for step up in trip so leading contender again.
Made the most of falling handicap and step up in trip latest when successful over 1m2f at Sandown, her second career success. Raised 4lb now and struggled off similar marks previously so not as easy here but could be improving.
Took well to handicaps for Mick Appleby winning over 1m2f at Redcar two starts back before finishing second at Leicester latest off same mark as today. Clearly still competitive at this rating as he starts out for new yard.
1m winner at Killarney last year for John Oxx who was then second of 14 at Naas in most recent start. Very long absence to overcome as he starts out for new yard but could be capable of improvement in time now upped in trip.
1m2f winner at Haydock readily followed up at Yarmouth despite a 6lb rise in a weak four runner race. Handicapper tags on another 5lb now but she is clearly on the up so rates a leading contender bidding for the hat-trick.
1m2f winner at Windsor in June and again showed a liking for that venue last time out with her best effort since in second of 11. Only upped 1lb so no reason she shouldn't be competitive here although more an each-way proposition.
Went down by a short-head over C&D latest which rated a much improved effort. 5lb rise from the handicapper a little harsh but probably right to take no chances given likelihood that there is more to come.
Forecasts
Matewan (2/1), Black Lotus (7/2), Solar Echo (7/2), Railport Dolly (7/1), Protected Guest (11/1), Autumn Leaves (12/1), Couldn't Could She (20/1), Isaac Wonder (50/1)
There was plenty to like about SOLAR ECHO's success at Sandown and the way she powered up the hill there suggested this step up in trip would be to her liking. She represents a yard in fine form so gets the nod here to follow up. Matewan ran well over C&D latest and should be capable of further improvement so he is a big danger. Hat-trick seeking Black Lotus is another whose arrow is still pointing up and Chris Wall's filly has to be considered also.
- Solar Echo
- Matewan
- Black Lotus
