Seems to like Plumpton and comes into this having been poor on his last four starts under both codes. Drops to a level where his record is 1-3 and he was placed in the other two.

Three wins and five places from ten starts and has proven adept over different obstacles and trips. Stable not as hot as they were, but unwise to dismiss his chances off the same mark as when scoring at Worcester last time.

Tricky individual who needs to be held up off a strong pace. That possible with two front-runners in the lineup, but there are risks.

2-3 here and well-handicapped on his latest C&D victory. Has scored on the Flat this year but soon in trouble after being headed and making a mistake on return.

Sole win in 30 starts came in a Flat seller. Has run to a consistent level over hurdles and one that gives him a chance in a race that should be run to suit.

Forecasts

Holryale (11/8), Jackblack (3/1), My Brother (7/2), Romanor (5/1), Monday Club (5/1), East Indies (9/1)

Verdict

Jackblack has a good record here and ran above this mark when gaining his most recent C&D success. That said his current wellbeing has to be questioned following two weak efforts and he may not get things all his own way up front with Holyrale in opposition. The Skelton runner is consistent and remains feasibly treated as is Monday Club. He is not easy to win with but has a lot going for him here and makes more appeal than East Indies. A chance is taken on MY BROTHER who was a decent performer on the level and who has had two runs this summer which should have taught him plenty and which leave him on an attractive mark.
  1. My Brother
  2. Holryale
  3. Monday Club
