Runner-up on his first try over fences he's soon put that right by winning his next two starts beating three rivals each time. The handicapper has been quite harsh on him for those wins though pushing him up to a mark of 137 for his hat-trick bid.

Hit an upturn in form when joining this yard last year winning his first five races and rising 17lb in the handicap in a mixture of hurdle and chase wins. Not seen since the start of the year and has a little to prove but should enjoy the ground.

A Southwell winner in May over 2m on a sound surface he's not quite been in the form to build on that win although there have been some sound performances. Not at his best last time though and hard to say that he's well handicapped off this mark.

His win in a match race at Towcester is nothing to write home about but he has posted some other solid chase efforts on the back of that run. Generally makes the running (uncomplicated sort) who will make a bold bid here if left alone upfront.

Consistent sort over hurdles and showed just about the same level of form on her hurdles debut (showed promise). Would need a little mire to win this but first-time cheekpieces may help her eke out some more progress.

Forecasts

Theo (15/8), Our Three Sons (5/2), One For Billy (3/1), Rebel Yeats (11/2), Oliver's Gold (14/1)

Verdict

The handicapper really appeared to want to punish One For Billy for his two winning chase efforts and although he’s capable of winning something like this a mark of 137 sets him a stiff task. C&D winner Theo is back from a break and he’ll appreciate the sounder surface but might just need this with Rebel Yeats expected to build on her promising chase debut. OUR THREE SONS has yet to run a poor race over fences and if he’s allowed a soft lead here he might prove dangerous back to the trip he won over on chase debut in a Towcester match.
  1. Our Three Sons
  2. Rebel Yeats
  3. One For Billy
