A modest sort of the Flat it's hard to say that he's an improved model over hurdles having been well held in his two starts so far in this sphere. Needs this run for a handicap mark and will be better off in that discipline.

His point-to-point form was poor (one placed effort) and he fared little better on his bumper debut (failed to settle). Now makes his hurdling debut; may well need the experience.
Fairly useful on the Flat (won five handicaps in the 2016 season) he showed some ability on his hurdling debut over C&D (runner-up) for this yard before regressing last time. Judged on his first effort would have a chance; made mistakes last time.

Makes yard/hurdles debut after leaving Nicky Henderson having shown little promise in two bumper efforts 10 months apart. Well backed on the first occasion (failed to settle) he did no better second-time around; best watched.

Point-to-point winner at the 7th attempt he showed very little promise on his hurdles debut at Worcester (lead, until weakened quickly). Looks as though he'll need more experience yet and others appeal more.
Despite being trained in Ireland has run all four races in GB taking a Uttoxeter bumper on his 3rd start (still looked in need of the experience). Failed to build on that progress on his hurdles debut last time despite finishing 2nd (modest form).

Fair sort when trained on the Flat in Ireland and has now joined a top-class jumping yard for his hurdling debut. Only stayed 1m on the Flat so sharp tracks such as this are likely to suit; dam was a half-sister to a useful hurdler.

Relatively useful maiden on the Flat when with Richard Hannon he's joined a yard renowned for success with this type having had won run for Ben Haslam. Tongue-tie (first-time) for hurdles debut with the market sure to provide clues to his wellbeing.

Dual Flat turf winner in Germany at 1m2f who had now been gelded and makes his debut for the leading trainer at the track. Thought good enough to have run in the German Derby he's fascinating debut runner for a respected stable.

Still to show even the merest hint of ability in bumpers or over hurdles and hard to fashion a case for her here.
Has so far had an attempt at every discipline under Rules and was last seen in a Kelso novice hurdle (pulled up). Makes her debut for this yard but hardly one with a solid profile and easily passed over.

Bumper winner on her debut for this yard who hasn't been able to progress since being switched to hurdles. Took 2nd on her most recent start at Uttoxeter (raced freely) but that remains modest form.

Forecasts

Promise Of Peace (5/2), Henry Smith (11/4), Lester Kris (5/1), Staged Engagement (6/1), Thelunarschooner (6/1), True Companion (14/1), Sad Eyed Dylan (20/1), Ligny (50/1), Goldrapper (100/1), Dont Call Me Doris (125/1), Captain Revelation (150/1), How Much Is Enough (150/1)

Verdict

The runners that have already had some experience over hurdles don’t set a great standard although Henry Smith returns from a wind op and that may help him return to the form he showed on his debut over hurdles. Don McCain has a 22% strike-rate with his hurdlers at Bangor and that makes his useful German Flat recruit PROMISE OF PEACE interesting here on his hurdling debut after joining the card for €30,000. Other ex-Flat racers Lester Kris and True Companion are also worth noting on their hurdling debuts both for yards who have a good record in this sphere.
