Will look to build on a couple of promising starts at Listowel and more recently at the Galway festival despite disappointing connections. Open to plenty of improvement.

Enters calculations following a trio of runner-up positions over hurdles since June including a short-head defeat in a 2m1½f Ballinrobe maiden last month. Deserves a change of luck.
Moderate form in point-to-points and bumpers before finishing well down the field in a couple of dismal maiden hurdle performances since last month. Plenty to prove at present.

Poor in a number of point-to-point appearances recently and remains without a win in three hurdle starts to date. Watching brief on stable debut.

Nothing of note in a number of desolate hurdling displays since returning to the track in May. First time cheekpieces unlikely to bring about the required amount of improvement needed to play a role here.

Gelding by Where Or When out of a Lord Americo mare. Failed to finish in five of his six point-to-point starts and passed over her.

Detached and tailed off when spooking on debut in a Thurles bumper back in March. Up in trip and market likely to reveal expectations.

Poor in three point-to-point starts before being well held on maiden hurdle debut in a 2m5f Roscommon contest earlier this month. Well below-par form looks set to continue.

Possibly needed the run on return to the track in a 2m4f Wexford handicap hurdle when last seen in May. Clearly has her training issues and best watched here.

Has disappointed connections in a series of gloomy performances in the point-to-point field and over hurdles. First time cheekpieces inconceivable to produce the required amount of development needed to play a role here.
14

Well held in a number of point-to-point starts, three since March. First-time tongue-tie unlikely to inspire any great improvement.

Arctic Cosmos filly out of a Grand Lodge mare. St Leger winning sire has his first four-year-olds this term and market likely to be best guide to chances on hurdling debut.

First Reserve: Has finished tailed off and well down the field in four career starts starts including in a number of below-par maiden hurdle performances. Very little to be positive about.

Forecasts

Getareason (1/5), Zaofu (4/1), Novano (8/1), The Shunter (12/1), Triangle Rock (16/1), Premier D'troice (20/1), Day Day (25/1), Niamh's Oscar (33/1), Cusp Of Carabelli (40/1), Mrs Pops (50/1), Where Now (66/1), Make Me Merry (66/1), Tsarina Sophia (100/1), Graig Na Manach (100/1), Don Elias (100/1), Carrigaloe (125/1)

Verdict

ZAOFU has been beaten a head, ½L and a short-head on his last three starts and deserves a change of luck here for a yard that has a 17% win strike rate at this meeting in the last four years. The six-year-old is taken over likely warm order Getareason from the Willie Mullins yard who will look to build on his promising two starts since June. The Seamus Neville-trained Novano could fill third place ahead of a pretty ordinary bunch.
