Placed twice over 1m2f at The Curragh last year. Gelded since disappointing at Navan (1m5f, heavy) in October and worth a check in the market on seasonal debut.
Finished runner-up in a 1m5f maiden at Ballinrobe (good) in June. Visor worn for the first time that day retained since including when third of four at Bellewstown (1m6f, good-to-firm) early last month. Likely to prove hard to beat.
Held twice for Aidan O'Brien in spring 2017 and beaten 19L when debuting for this yard at Galway (7f, soft) three weeks ago. Stepping up markedly in distance.
Forecasts
Baliyad (4/6), Acrux Cass (10/3), Calgath (5/1), Endearing'son (10/1), Moanbaun Maestro (20/1), War Ensign (25/1), Knockeenbawn Lady (100/1)
BALIYAD has been running well in maiden races and he can get off the mark at the fifth attempt by taking this maiden contest. The selection should have no problems with the return to this trip and he can take this at the chief expense of Calgath who is returning from an absence while third can go to Acrux Cass who was narrowly beaten last time.
