Easy bumper winner at Downpatrick last time, coming right away for a 10l victory and has conditions to suit again. Sets the standard and although carrying a penalty in these races is never easy, looks the one to beat. Yard 11-39 in bumpers here.
Good debut when runner up at Kelso and learnt enough to win at Uttoxeter last time, despite looking green in the closing stages. Will improve but that form not as strong as it looks, and plenty on under a penalty.
Dam was a hurdles winner (over 2m6f) and there is a bit of speed in the pedigree as well, so this test could suit. Yard just 2-61 in bumpers here, however, which tempers confidence.
Never in the hunt on debut here earlier in the month and 66-1 price tag suggests little was expected. Others readily preferred.
Tailed off first two starts and then pulled up in a bumper, none of which bodes well for her chances here. Cheekpieces on for first time.
Yard know how to win bumpers here (8-36) and top jockey booked, so every chance she will improve on her debut fourth at Kelso last November where she was getting the hang of things late. Place chances at worst.
Tailed off on both starts to date and has no realistic chance of success unless she finds a lot of improvement from somewhere.
Has plenty of speed in her pedigree (not really bred for this trip) but not the worst introduction when third on Southwell debut. That is weak form and she will require more, and yard not known for bumper winners.
Forecasts
Carrie Des Champs (8/13), Keep The River (4/1), Rashee (5/1), Charlie's Lass (6/1), My Peggy (11/1), Dear Dora (25/1), Solway Lizzie (33/1), Frankies Fire (33/1)
CARRIE DES CHAMPS won with plenty of authority last time and despite having to shoulder a penalty, looks too good for these. Keep The River has a win to her name too, but preference for the runner-up spot goes to Rashee, who looks a probable improver and has the services of Brian Hughes to help.
- Carrie Des Champs
- Rashee
- Keep The River
