The most experienced of these having raced five times. Doesn't really seem to be progressing and moderate efforts last twice in handicaps evidence of that. Surprise if unexposed sorts don't prove stronger.

Bred to stay and possibly even go jumping given his sire. Midfield on debut at Lingfield last month but beaten some 29L. Hard to envisage him being involved here.

Never nearer 8½L third of nine on debut at Ffos Las over 1m4f two weeks ago. Entitled to come on for the run but suggest this is a stronger race.

Showed promise in all three runs in the Spring with his latest a staying on fourth at Newmarket over 1m2f. First, second and fifth from that race all won next time up (third not run since). Gelded since and had a break but looks a leading contender.

Slowly away and met some trouble in running on debut at Nottingham (1m2f) 9 days ago but still managed second place. Bred to appreciate this step up in trip and looks sure to be better for experience so expecting a bold bid here.

Change to forcing tactics latest saw a much improved effort when fourth of 12 at Newcastle over 1m4½f. First run on turf here and ought to be competitive. Leading trainer's only runner at the meeting.

Beaten a long way in AW maidens over 7f and 1m late on last season and not seen since. Bred to appreciate this much longer trip but huge leap of faith required to back her.

Forecasts

Sextant (10/11), Prabeni (2/1), Lady Baker (8/1), Beer With The Boys (14/1), Lzaaz (20/1), Capestra (33/1), Spritzig (66/1)

Verdict

A trio from top yards are set to dominate this contest and a chance is taken on William Haggas' PRABENI who finished fourth in a Rowley Mile maiden that has worked out exceptionally well when he was last seen. This son of Teofilo has since been gelded and he should appreciate this step up in trip so gets the vote. Sir Michael Stoute knows the family of Sextant well and this Royal runner showed plenty of promise first up at Nottingham. He should reward his trainer's patience soon enough. Lady Baker's latest effort puts her in the picture too and she is of interest on her turf debut.
  1. Prabeni
  2. Sextant
  3. Lady Baker
