Just the two starts and improved last time at Roscommon, another step forward would see him in the scrap for places and perhaps more.

Faded to finish seventh of 15 in bumper at Galway 18 days ago in first outing in this sphere, potentially can do better this time.

Second in a point-to-point in December, then beaten 30L in heavy-ground bumper at Down Royal the following month. Off since, may improve.
Nothing to inspire in three starts in point-to-points so far, makes rules debut and likely going to suffer similar fate.

Sent off odds-on on debut at Kilbeggan, ran somewhat green and finished only fifth of eight. Represents champion trainer and may show benefit of that experience. Respected.

Twice runner-up in bumpers at Roscommon and Killarney earlier in the summer, ran fair race this month at Roscommon, but needs a slice of improvement to open account.

Runner-up in a bumper here in June and solid third in better contest since at Killarney. Perhaps needs to have stamina stretched to be at best but solid contender no less.
Runner-up at Clonmel in June behind a promising sort, perhaps flattered by that judged on subsequent efforts at Wexford and Killarney and has point to prove for now.

Forecasts

Delice Du Chenet (5/2), Chasing Abbey (3/1), Hammerstein (7/2), Mid Day Gun (6/1), Vic's Little Miss (9/1), Ishyaboi (10/1), Longtide (14/1), Mahler Of Autumn (40/1)

Verdict

Mid Day Gun looked in need of the experience on debut at Kilbeggan last time. He'll have learned from that but is again plenty short in the betting and potentially opposable. Hammerstein has run well here already and again since at Killarney, though Gordon Elliott's charge might want a further test of stamina. DELICE DU CHENET showed improved form on second start at Roscommon and, with another step forward, could be the value call in this line-up.
  1. Delice Du Chenet
  2. Mid Day Gun
  3. Hammerstein
