Excellent effort on return from 274 day absence when only beaten 1L into second at Kempton showing a liking again for AW. No reason he won't be as effective back on turf and plenty to like about his chances.

Left two poor runs behind with back-to-back solid efforts at Newmarket's July course. Could be coming into his own now and has form on a softer surface from his two-year-old days with Aidan O'Brien.

Below-par in five races this season but not had any chance to race on seemingly favoured softer ground. Dangerously well handicapped now with chance of testing conditions and hood a further cause for optimism. Respected.

Weakened into fourth on return at Ayr when he pulled hard over 6f. All four career wins come over 5f and racing style suggests that he could again find the final furlong problematic here.

April C&D winner on good to firm ground has ran well the last twice with placed efforts in small fields at Pontefract and Newcastle (AW). Gets 1lb back so should be competitive although has no experience of testing conditions.

Only beaten a neck when dead-heating for second in first handicap race at Kempton on the AW last month. Should be winning handicaps soon enough based on that and return to turf here no major cause for concern.

Only beaten ½L into third in first handicap at Leicester. Hit with a 3lb penalty for that and never really involved after a slow start latest at Windsor. Had a short break since and off a mark she is expected to be competitive off.

Promising start to this campaign when second at Doncaster but only raced twice since and someway short of that form. Switch to handicapping latest saw her struggle at Kempton and questions to answer at present.

Out of luck in seven races this term and only really competitive once which was her penultimate start. Handicap mark now someway below last winning mark but recent form makes her hard to be confident in.

Forecasts

Fivetwoeight (3/1), Buxted Dream (3/1), Miracle Works (9/2), Bella Ferrari (7/1), Enzo's Lad (8/1), Mount Wellington (12/1), Gnaad (14/1), Ocean Temptress (14/1), Praxedis (25/1)

Verdict

It may pay to take a chance here on Luca Cumani's BUXTED DREAM. At first glance his form doesn't leap off the page but this dual winner on testing conditions has raced exclusively this term on fast ground which has allowed his handicap to fall markedly. With the likelihood of softer ground here and a first-time hood it would be no surprise to see a revival. Miracle Works made a nice start to his handicap career at Kempton and should again be a leading player here. Fivetwoeight is another who ran well last time and he makes appeal with fitness likely boosted in this wide-open contest.
