Six-times winner on the Flat and has shown a fair level of form in three starts over hurdles, latterly in first-time cheekpieces at Newton Abbot. No headgear this time, but has enough form in the book to suggest he should play a prominent role.

Limited promise in two bumpers and a maiden hurdle. Looks to be a work in progress and is best watched until showing more. First run since undergoing wind surgery.
Hinted at ability in point-to-points and first outing in a bumper at this track suggested he has a future. Interesting to see what he can do now switched to hurdles.

Beaten a long way in a bumper and novices' hurdle on his last two starts at this venue. Steps up in trip and has plenty to prove.
5

Has failed to beat a rival in two starts over hurdles, but was not disgraced in a three-runner contest at Newton Abbot on his latest outing. Early days for him, but improvement is needed.

Formerly trained by Robert Stephens, he was having his first run for this stable when a tailed-off last of four finishers at Stratford last month. He is surely better than that, but needs to prove it.
Definite signs of ability in a bumper and two novice hurdles for Emma Lavelle. Starts out for a new stable and enters calculations with improvement on the cards.
Winning point-to-pointer who was beaten out of sight on his hurdling debut at Cartmel. Clearly needs to take a huge step forward.

Failed to win a hurdles race in nine attempts when trained by Andrew Slattery in Ireland. Visored for the first time on debut for this stable and has bits of his form in Ireland which give him a squeak.

Winning point-to-pointer who was pulled up on her hurdling debut at Newton Abbot. Should be wiser this time, but has a lot to find.

Inexplicably ran out at Newton Abbot in June, but has put that behind her with two better efforts. Not straightforward so the booking of the champion jockey is a huge plus.
Down the field in two bumpers and a maiden hurdle, the last two races at this track. Wears a hood for the first time and it will need to have a dramatic effect if she is to figure.

Forecasts

Cotton Club (11/8), Massini's Dream (5/2), Rooster Cogburn (9/2), Heydour (10/1), Miskin (10/1), Desert De Bruyere (16/1), Bit More (16/1), Downtown Rebel (28/1), Cul De Poule (40/1), The Tangler Barry (40/1), Personal Coach (50/1), Asking A Lot (80/1), Great Fairy (80/1), Peanutsponypetite (150/1)

Verdict

Miskin makes a belated first appearance over hurdles, but could figure if taking to jumping, and if the champion jockey can get a good tune out of Massini's Dream she will be a threat. Rooster Cogburn and Downtown Rebel have shown enough to suggest they can get involved on their stable debuts, but the percentage call is fair Flat performer COTTON CLUB, who looks ready to open his account over hurdles.
  1. Cotton Club
  2. Massini's Dream
  3. Rooster Cogburn
