Old boy who ended a long losing sequence when winning gamely at Lingfield (7½f, good) in a claimer back in May. Off since and giving weight away all round in a handicap is a tougher ask.
Not been with this yard long and both of her recent efforts have shown promise. Down another 1lb here and riders claim gives her a big shout of going close.
Bounced back to form when winning comfortably at Chepstow (1m, good to firm) last time. Up 4lbs in a slightly better race which makes life tougher but obvious claims once more if in the same mood.
Comfortable winner here three starts back in what was a weak race. Struggled off this higher mark the last twice and needs a return to this venue to spark her back into life.
Been in good form this year having won three times already. Possibly hit the front a bit too soon at Brighton last time and if she can be held onto a bit longer, would have strong claims off the same mark once again.
There is a chance we will not see the best of him until he encounters some soft ground but there is plenty of promise to be taken from his last two efforts having not seen out the mile. This drop in trip looks a good move and has place claims.
Returned to form when winning well under smart 7lb claimer at Brighton last time. Penalty makes life tougher but one of a few of these that are in good form so obvious chance to follow-up.
Has shown improved form the last twice when finishing third on both occasions. Both of those efforts out her right in the mix for this and she's very hard to dismiss.
Sole success came on the AW in October 2016 but recent poor efforts have seen his mark drop rapidly. Very well handicapped now but we need to see a more positive showing before he becomes of interest.
Winner of 1lb lower on debut for this yard back in May. She went close in a four-runner contest at Chepstow last time off this mark. This if anything is stronger and she'll need a little more.
Forecasts
Face Like Thunder (9/4), Wicked Sea (4/1), Crystal Casque (11/2), Bombshell Bay (8/1), Summerseat Mist (9/1), Kachumba (9/1), Tai Sing Yeh (10/1), Scottish Glen (14/1), Burren View Lady (25/1), Mister Musicmaster (33/1)
An open finale in which Mister Musicmaster will have sound claims if able to back up his cosy win at Chepstow last time. Crystal Casque is another who should be on the premises and is very much respected. A chance is taken that Aled Beech can be patient with KACHUMBA and produce her as late as possible to get her back in the winners enclosure.
- Kachumba
- Crystal Casque
- Mister Musicmaster
