Showed that he was still capable at this level when drawing clear with an improving three-year-old last time at Nottingham. Raised 4lb for that effort he should be able to give another good account but does face some useful three-year-olds again.
Twice a course winner his losing run is starting to lengthen now and he was well below form/expectations last time at Pontefract (7/4 favourite). Wasn't ideally placed but still below-par and has to prove himself despite the falling mark.
In useful form last year (won twice over 7f); he's looked as though he might be coming back to form this season. All his form is over shorter trips than this though and it remains to be seen if his stamina lasts out (nicely weighted if it does).
Took advantage of a good track position when getting off the mark last time staying on well over this trip. That form has yet to be tested but his runs style (prominent) should be well suited to this venue; up 5lb for his last win.
Form looks better than the figures would suggest with the trip (1m4f) proving too testing last time; now drops down 2f to make his handicap debut. Yard 333214 with their first-time handicaps here (last five years); suggests a decent performance.
Blinkers get tried for the first-time in a bid to improve a lack-lustre last time out performance. Usually likes to make the pace/sit prominently but may need a little more help from the handicapper before doing himself justice.
Consistent sort who despite having yet to win a race has looked as though he should be competitive in this. Back into handicap company he has run well off this mark before but could just do with a slight ease if he's to win a race.
