Very impressive winning three of his first four starts including a valuable handicap at York. Never settled at Newmarket and although that was disappointing it was well below his previous form. Could easily bounce back in a weaker contest.

Had proved progressive and was a touch unfortunate not to win at Newmarket before being unsuited by a slow early tempo last time. Can still be a leading player off this mark if getting a stronger tempo to aim at.

Unsuited by a tactical contest at Kempton, he had previously impressed in back-to-back wins. Bred to be suited by this extra test of stamina so could easily leave that latest run behind.

Very progressive filly having won four handicaps this year before not getting the clearest of runs last twice off revised mark. Vulnerable to less exposed rivals but could be suited if this turns tactical.

Ran in some smart races last season when winning on debut before two placed efforts. The third at Kempton has produced winners aplenty and as a son of Makfi is bred to appreciate this extra trip on seasonal and handicap debut. Jockey booking a plus.

Wissahickon (8/11), Blue Mist (5/2), Three Weeks (7/1), Mr Reckless (11/1), Juneau (25/1)

Verdict

Wissahickon sets a fair standard to aim at from his first four runs and it's likely that his last start in strong company was too bad to be true and it would be no surprise to see him return to winning ways. However this is a tight contest with all holding realistic hopes and much will be decided by the early speed. Mr Reckless isn't guaranteed the tempo he needs while Juneau is more exposed but does at least like to race on the pace. Three Weeks is a leading hope getting up to this trip as is BLUE MIST. The latter's form couldn't have worked out better from last year and always looked the type to improve with a year under his belt.
  1. Blue Mist
  2. Wissahickon
  3. Three Weeks
