Now 12lb below her last winning mark and coming from a stable in good form she has to be of interest here. Has run well the last twice over C&D with the blinkers (retained) working to good effect and despite her slow starts she can't be ignored.

Trainer has an excellent record at the course (5-14 overall; 2-4 this year) and the suspicion is that he might be able to turn this 14-race maiden around. Would have needed the first run for the yard recently and the market will prove informative.

Seen to best effect this year when making all over 7f at Thirsk (good-to-soft) and has turned in decent display over C&D the last twice (just behind Acadian Angel last time). Form has been franked by the win of the 4th; softer surface to suit better.

Yard's record not as good as it used to be here but still respected for all that and if this one could repeat his good 2nd at Navan over 6f he would have a good chance. Reported to burst blood vessels when finishing last at Naas; not written off.

Down in trip and having a second run in two days he managed to end a long losing run over C&D under today's pilot in July. Not in the same form last time though underlining his inconsistency and despite being capable off this mark he's passed over.

Plenty of tricks have been tried in an attempt to get this one a win; currently 0-15 on the Flat; below-par last time. Has a couple of creditable runs to his name earlier in the season now tried in a first-time visor; comes with risks attached.

Three-times a C&D winner in the past and has fallen to an attractive mark based on his earlier form but far from guaranteed to be able to produce anything approaching that level. Best watched given his lack-lustre Saturday display over 1m here.

Below-par this year and yet to win a race since taking a maiden back in 2015 although he is now very well treated if he could find some form. Would need to see some encouragement from the market before thinking of supporting.

Hard to say that he showed that much ability when qualifying for a mark and the one he was originally given was on the high side. Failed to come on for his initial try in a handicap and has lots to do now to win in this sphere.

Not disgraced here on his penultimate start over C&D (better than his final position of 6th suggests) and followed that up with a better effort last time over 6f. Step back to this trip will surely help and a repeat of that form gives him a chance.

Forecasts

Acadian Angel (3/1), Curly Girl (7/2), Retirement Beckons (6/1), My Valentino (13/2), Stardrifter (9/1), Be Bold (10/1), Jan Steen (10/1), Rising Eagle (12/1), Rioja Day (33/1), Barney Bullet (50/1)

Verdict

The three Irish runners all need watching in the market with market support for any/all of them significant although the one that interests the most is Curly Girl with her yard having such a good record here. Retirement Beckons could easily be overpriced on the form of his last two runs and if he repeats that form he could surprise a few. Be Bold could do with a slightly softer surface to operate and preference is for ACADIAN ANGEL who ran well over C&D last time and coming from a yard in good form who also have a good record at this track (15-94 last five years).
  1. Acadian Angel
  2. Curly Girl
  3. Retirement Beckons
