Scored over this trip at Lingfield (AW) in May, when 7lb lower and went very close from just 1lb lower at Windsor two starts ago (5f, good to firm). Form dipped last time, so needs to get back on track, but can't be ruled out.
Won a Catterick novice auction event (6f, good to soft) in September and added a soft ground Doncaster handicap (6f) in November, from 3lb lower. Beginning to look exposed after two recent defeats as favourite, but not written off.
Heavy ground Carlisle winner over 6f last season and has found a bit of improvement in his last three starts, going close twice on turf from marks of 78 and 79 and winning from 4lb lower at Newcastle (AW) last time. More needed but makes short-list.
Scored in first-time blinkers at Windsor (6f, good to firm) in novices company and then went very close in a 5f Newmarket handicap from 1lb lower than today. Not quite as good last time, but probably more to come. Considered.
0-6. Declared to run at Haydock on Saturday. Has already gone close there this season over 6f (good to firm), when 3lb lower. A shade disappointing at Ayr after that. Needs to get back on track if turning up for this.
Sole win came on soft at Goodwood (6f) in October. Has bettered that on all but one run this term, but now beginning to look exposed. Even so, is entitled to each-way consideration.
Sole turf win was over 6f at Haydock (good to firm) last year. Has added wins on AW (6f/7f) since. Remains 2lb higher than that turf win. Back on a handy mark, but a bit to prove after his reappearance recently.
