Not disgraced in an attempt to earn some black type at Pontefract but her efforts have seen her go up another 5lb. Positively ridden that day and so the effort may flatter her. This race will give a truer reflection of how good she is.

Last two wins have come in fast-ground handicaps over 1m here, latest in May off 1lb lower. Not at her best off higher marks since and reunited with her last winning rider.

Looked a decent prospect when making a winning debut here. Form of her penultimate start suggests her mark is no better than fair. She can be forgiven her last run when she failed to settle in first-time cheekpieces (now removed).

Made all to land a gamble on her return at Haydock (1m,soft). That form has worked out really well with the second and third rated in the mid-80s and the fifth winning by 7L next time. Seems most lucratively weighted if conditions are not too quick.

Has been going up the weights for some good efforts in defeat. Her two most recent conquerors were obviously well-handicapped given their subsequent achievements and this could actually prove easier.

Forecasts

Beauty Filly (15/8), Hunni (5/2), Fondest (11/4), Marilyn (6/1), Bint Dandy (20/1)

Verdict

Hunni has been unlucky to bump into two useful fillies in her last two handicaps with both being upgraded to marks in the upper 90s. She makes more appeal than Marilyn, Beauty Filly and Bint Dandy, but FONDEST looks to have been let in lightly for her handicap debut. James Fanshawe's filly earned her current mark after landing a gamble in the Haydock mud in April. The way the form has worked out suggests she is value for a mark in the mid-80s and connections have been patiently waiting for an opportunity to race on her decent ground this summer. The booking of William Buick is a positive sign and she must be the one to beat.
  1. Fondest
  2. Hunni
  3. Beauty Filly
