Top trainer taken his time with this well bred Shamardal colt who built on the promise of his debut second when strolling to success at odds of 1/5 latest. 7lb penalty to overcome but could be anything at this stage of his career.

Finished in midfield in both career starts to date at Chelmsford on the AW. Switches to turf now but on all known form would need a huge step up to be heavily involved.

Outran 25/1 odds when third of nine at Windsor latest in a novice stakes over 1m. That showed she has ability but suspicion that she might be bumping into classy sorts here so placed finish again more likely.

Newcomer by Pivotal is out of an Italian Oaks winner so merits respect on this her quite belated debut. May want further in time but still worth watching the market given her trainer and pedigree.

Eight months between her two starts to date but started at 100/1 in each and beaten a long way both times. Very hard to be optimistic about her.

280,000gns yearling by Teofilo is half-sister to six winners including Group One placed Jallota and ran a race filled with promise on debut over C&D last month when second. Looks a big player here particularly receiving 12lb from Sharamm.

Verdict

It may pay to side with Sir Michael Stoute's RAWDAA here in receipt of 12lb from Sharamm. Both have shown plenty of ability in brief careers to date and while it is hard to know how good Rawdaa's conqueror was on debut it did look a good race beforehand given the connections involved. Sharamm could do little more than beat what was in front of him last time but he surely faces a sterner test here especially given the penalty. Of the rest the well bred Jazz Walk could prove the best despite being the lone debutant in the field.
  1. Rawdaa
  2. Sharamm
  3. Jazz Walk
