Off the mark at his 4th attempt given an easy opportunity over this trip at Hamilton before being outclassed (ran with credit) in the Newbury Super Sprint. Now makes his handicap debut having looked suited by this 5f trip on a previous run here.

One of only two in the field that have run in a handicap so far but looks rather exposed and only managed to finish 4th of five. Blinkers now tried for the first-time in a bid to extract some more improvement although that looks difficult.

Did the best of these that ran in the Super Sprint having failed to progress from her promising debut when 2nd as a 6/4 favourite at Beverley. Now makes her handicap debut off what looks a workable mark and given a more suitable test.

Cheekpieces go on for the first-time as he makes his nursery debut with just one standout piece of form to his name but already beaten in a claimer and a seller last time. All of that leaves him with plenty to prove off a testing mark.

Looks the sort who has been brought along with this test in mind having shown promise in his three runs so far. Could well have more to offer stepping into handicaps with the form of his last run having been franked.

Completed his qualifying runs quite early and was then gelded and may have needed the run after a break taking in handicaps for the first time. Dropped 3lb from his opening mark the cheekpieces now go on in an effort to find further progress.

Forecasts

Diamonique (11/10), Woodside Wonder (5/2), Staycation (13/2), Tick Tock Croc (9/1), Majestic Appeal (12/1), Capitan James (20/1)

Verdict

Keith Dalgleish took this race in 2015 and 2016 and he has two chances to land this nursery for a third time with a couple that he ran in the Newbury Super Sprint last time when both were predictably outclassed. The best of the duo (both nursery debutantes) looks to be DIAMONIQUE having been given a mark that she should be competitive off and Woodside Wonder gives the trainer a good chance of a 1-2 in this. Tick Tock Croc could well be the one to split that duo though having always looked a nursery type with Majestic Appeal another of interest having shown speed on his nursery debut against a couple of better fancied types.
  1. Diamonique
  2. Tick Tock Croc
  3. Woodside Wonder
