40/1
Looked backward on debut in Ludlow bumper this winter then ran poorly after a break when well beaten in similar contest at Worcester last month. Hurdles debut and has fair jumps pedigree but needs to show more than we've seen so far.
2
Horse silk
20/1
Modest Flat staying handicapper but has won three times at up to two miles. Showed promise in both starts over timber in autumn 2016 but not seen since so fitness likely to be an issue after such a layoff.
3
Horse silk
66/1
Fair effort when fourth in Hereford bumper on debut but ran badly at Plumpton soon after. In touch until weakened 2 out at Southwell recently on hurdles bow following break, and there could be a little improvement to come.

Northern Beau19
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-0| J: T Scudamore| T: M Scudamore| OR:  107
11/4
Has gone close on a few occasions over hurdles and again ran creditably when at Southwell last time. Similar effort may take her close and she looks a serious contender.

Has run fairly well all four starts this term but has looked one paced so step up in trip here looks the right call. Champion jockey takes the ride and is sure to prove a popular choice.

Skin Deep30
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-0| J: Wayne Hutchinson| T: A King

Yard in good form at present and this Presenting mare who is a hlaf-sister to the high-class Yanworth duly landed the odds-on in a bumper at Worcester last time out. Sure to have been well schooled and has a big chance.

Fortia301
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-12| J: Adam Wedge| T: Miss E C LavelleWS
25/1
Modest Flat maiden for both William Haggas and Dean Ivory at up to two miles. Debuts for new connections follwing wind surgery and may struggle. Worth a market check though.

Pac It In12
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-12| J: David Bass| T: D Weston
22/1
Shown gradual improvement in four bumpers so far, going close when third at Stratford last week. Tough task here on hurdles bow though and others are preferred on this occasion.

Forecasts

Skin Deep (5/6), Silk Run (11/4), Northern Beau (11/4), Cosette (20/1), Pac It In (22/1), Fortia (25/1), Angel Moon (40/1), Last Watch (66/1)

Verdict

Alan King's SKIN DEEP is bred to be a good hurdler being a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Yanworth. She won a bumper last time out and with her yard in form should go very well. Richard Johnson won this race last year and partners Silk Run, who may well improve for the step up in trip, while Last Watch should strip fitter than at Southwell last time out and has place prospects. Pac It In is going the right way and is not completely out of it either.
