65,000gns foal, £230,000 yearling, £1,000 at three. Following that drop in price it was no surprise to see him sent off at long odds on debut but he was certainly not disgraced. With improvement is no forlorn hope.

Cityscape half-brother to useful stayer Look My Way and only likely to improve for step up in trip. Showed nice improvement when winning on his second start and there should be plenty more to come.
Camacho half-sister to useful 5f-6f winner Pearl Acclaim and 1m-1¼m winner Our Phylli Vera. Narrowly justified odds-on favouritism on debut but was very green and likely to improve. However that was a poor race and needs to find significant extra.

Bin Makfi21
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-0| J: K Stott| T: K A Ryan
5/2
Son of Makfi who showed a very likable attitude when going down narrowly at long odds on debut. Pulled nicely clear of the third there and the race was backed up by a good time. Should improve and looks a major contender.

Debutante who cost just £1,500 as a yearling. Bred to need further in time and best watched for stable struggling for winners.

Daughter of So You Think out of a Green Desert mare. Likely to need further and best watched on debut.

Tailed off on both starts so far at long odds and has also failed to beat a horse home. Hard to make any sort of case for.

Showed improvement first to second start and ran well for a long well before fading late over further. Drop in trip should help but likely to fare better in handicaps in due course.

Tiara Gold316
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-9| J: D Allan| T: Rae Guest
33/1
Cost €6,000 as a yearling and is a half-sister to five winners the best of which was Lucky General (juvenile 6f winner). Ran with credit on debut and likely to improve for the experience but this looks a tough task.

Verdigris73
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-9| J: S Hitchcott| T: C G Cox
16/1
Intense Focus filly who cost €20,000 as a yearling. Sent off at long odds on debut and was well beaten. Significant improvement required to be competitive.

Forecasts

Urban Aspect (8/11), Bin Makfi (5/2), Chippie Hill (8/1), Minovia (14/1), Verdigris (16/1), Shawaamekh (16/1), Tiara Gold (33/1), Arctic Roll (50/1), Marcella (250/1), I Think So (250/1)

Verdict

There's a lot to like about the debut of BIN MAKFI and with any sort of improvement he should be the one to beat. Urban Aspect has had one race more, is already a winner and is a clear danger as a colt who likewise should only progress. Shawaamekh, bought from Hamdan Al Maktoum, outran his much reduced latest purchase price on debut and could yet prove a bargain buy.
  1. Bin Makfi
  2. Urban Aspect
  3. Shawaamekh
