Dubai Destination gelding doesn't look appear to hold strong claims on paper ahead of this debut outing and is best watched.
Poor form so far, unseating in one hurdles run and failing to beat a rival home in a bumper at Punchestown last year. Back from a break, plenty to prove.
Late starter, making debut here at seven-years-old with a tongue-tie on. Market may reveal a bit more.

Third at Punchestown on debut in this sphere in June, running better than starting price of 22/1 hinted. Off since and should build on that now.
Duke Of Marmalade gelding with plenty going for him on paper. Represents top connections in this sphere and of clear interest making first start.
Did win a couple of point-to-point but they didn't appear strong and was duly disappointing on bumper bow at Downpatrick in July despite having been supporting in betting. Must improve.
Newcomer, will benefit from 7lb claim but doesn't make major appeal on paper and likely going to be up against it.

Doesn't have the form in two starts to suggest he'll be a threat. Trained locally however and yard landed a 50/1 touch when winning this race in 2016.

Not shown enough in five bumper starts this year to warrant selection here and already starting to look quite exposed.
Had made the frame in trip of bumpers lately, though this one is stronger and will require improvement if hoping for a similar outcome.

Bred for the Flat, the Vale of York gelding doesn't immediately appeal on paper for this test. Trainer locally and needs a market check.
Poor in point-to-points but gradually improving in this sphere and won't lack for a good partner with Derek O'Connor on board. Place claims.
Finished fourth on racecourse bow at Roscommon last month and is liable to have learned plenty from that experience. More to come.
Has shown promise already, including when fourth at Punchestown in April in this sphere having gone off a 50/1 poke. Can build on that.
Related to a couple of winners, including in this sphere. Market should reveal a bit more ahead of this debut outing.

Doctor Duffy (11/8), You Raised Me Up (9/4), Golden Spread (7/2), Watching Brief (14/1), Whatsyourstatus (20/1), Russian Soldier (25/1), Moondust Magic (28/1), Ozzie's Way (33/1), James Boru (33/1), Beltrame (33/1), Rockwell Annie (50/1), Tribelle (50/1), Avec Espoir (66/1), Antigua Son (66/1), Scanimax (66/1), Mossroe (66/1)

Verdict

With the Mullins yard in superb form and the champion trainer boasting a very strong record in bumpers here at Ballybrit, GOLDEN SPREAD should be a popular choice under Patrick Mullins in a finale where not many appeal. Doctor Duffy showed up well at Punchestown in April and have a case made on that form while Watching Brief and You Raised Me Up are the ones for place money.
