Took a big step forward when winning on second handicap start at Pontefract last month, and may have found run coming too son when below form at Hamilton ten days later. Capable of bouncing back.

Has run to a consistent level in handicaps since her return in a Newmarket maiden, but latest seventh of 8 at Newbury shows she's not particularly well treated. Is at least easing in the weights.

Failed to stay 1m2f at Nottingham on penultimate start, but back to form when a keeping-on sixth of 12 to Lady Al Thumama at Kempton last time. Not without a chance from a 2lb lower mark now.

Unplaced on both turf starts, but back to form returned to Polytrack when 1½L third of 14 to Geranium at Kempton last time. Needs to show she can translate that form to grass, but folly to ignore.

Respected on the form he showed when winning a 1m Windsor handicap off 2lb lower in June, but he's finished weakly on both starts since, and connections now reach for cheekpieces. Risky.

Ran respectably when second of 4 on handicap bow at Brighton (7f) in June, and did too much too soon when well held at Epsom last time. Needs more to be competitive from current mark, however.

Has failed to beat a rival in three qualifying runs, and while he appeared to run better when beaten 8L into fifth at Yarmouth last time, it's dangerous to read too much into that.

Best effort to date when beaten just over 1L into fourth at Brighton on penultimate outing, but he failed to back that up last time, and has since left Neil Mulholland.

Forecasts

Blanchefleur (11/4), Rampant Lion (9/2), Crystal Casque (5/1), Chikoko Trail (5/1), Silverturnstogold (8/1), Dance Me (8/1), Carlini (10/1), Sukhovey (14/1), Boxatricks (40/1)

Verdict

CRYSTAL CASQUE has yet to prove herself on turf, but she settled better when third at Kempton last time, and may be worth chancing. Rampant Lion disappointed last time, but is clearly capable of better, and may be the main dangerif he can break on terms. Chikoko Trail and Dance Me are others to consider in an open heat.
  1. Crystal Casque
  2. Rampant Lion
  3. Chikoko Trail
