Front-running sort who likes it around here, easy winner over C&D last time having scored previously at Uttoxeter on first start after wind surgery / layoff. Potentially still ahead of the assessor despite penalty.
Won Newcastle bumper in March then Sedgefield novice hurdle in May for Brian Ellison. Finished fine second (over C&D last time) both outings for new stable and looks sure to remain competitive.
Bumper winner, maiden after six starts over timber and looked fairly modest so far. Likely needs some assistance from the handicapper before scoring.
Stayed on grimly to score at Uttoxeter last month and duly found out here over C&D under the penalty. Not helped by jumping at times in that effort (fourth). Needs to improve in that regard.
Won once in four starts on the Flat for Dermot Weld (1m1½f, maiden), shaped well on hurdling debut in a first-time tongue tie (retained) when second at Southwell last month and again over C&D since. Switches to handicaps and ought to be a threat.
Went well here over fences in September (second over 2m4f) but ended last year with poor run at Cheltenham in October. Rated 7lb lower coming back over timber, betting check required.
His overall record is rather up-and-down since he landed a small field novice hurdle at Market Rasen some 13 months ago. No impact in runs at Towcester and Ffos Las of late, something to prove for now.
Forecasts
G For Ginger (6/4), Ezanak (3/1), Jamacho (5/1), Haafapiece (11/2), Excellent Team (12/1), Rasasee (25/1), Murray Mount (33/1)
G FOR GINGER likes this place and appeared to have any amount in hand when scoring here earlier in the month. He's been bumper up in the ratings since but looks sure to run another big race and is the one they all have to fear. Ezanak has shown enough promise since going hurdling to warrant a serious look now sent handicapping with the Skelton brothers enjoying such a fine summer, while the shortlist is completed by recent C&D second Jamacho. Murray Mount could be well treated back over hurdles and needs a close look in the betting.
