Tailed off on all three starts over hurdles and has plenty to prove despite a lack of depth in this contest.
Best effort came on penultimate start when a close fourth in a weak race at Tramore (2m). Well beaten since over today's trip at Wexford.

Has improved with each run and shaped as though ready for a stiffer test on handicap debut at Cork (2m). Still has something to find but entirely possible.

Was in the process of running a big race when brought down on penultimate start before finishing tailed off over Christmas. Absent since and market should tell us more.

Came in for support last time when fitted with a tongue-tie (now removed). Travelled well for a long way before fading in the final half-mile. Trainer/jockey combination are enjoying a good spell, but he remains hard to recommend judged on form.

Has failed to build on an encouraging Punchestown debut. Possible faster ground will help, but the fitting of cheekpieces suggest there may be other issues.
Improved effort when stepped up to this trip at Wexford. Needs to prove that run was no flash in the pan.

Found little under pressure when a beaten favourite in a Roscommon bumper. Makes his hurdling bow and it would have to be hoped he jumps better than he did in point-to-points.
9

100/1
Has produced nothing of note under rules and in point-to-points. On current form it would be an achievement if he remains upright.

Has achieved little in seven career starts and reappears after a 17-month absence for a stable that has gone two years without a winner.

Claims on his best form last winter but he has disappointed since. Failed to stay 3m last time and given an easier task here.
Showed some ability on bumper debut and again last month on hurdling bow. Did well under the circumstances having been hampered by a faller and the longer trip should help.

Forecasts

Wigs On The Green (11/8), Kamil (10/3), Gemmattymoll (5/1), Hitdroadjack (10/1), Captain Cobajay (12/1), Pilot Station (12/1), Major Fawcett (25/1), Knock On Steel (25/1), Alfred Eile (33/1), Tikkereasy (66/1), Artic Quest (66/1), Redwood Castle (100/1)

Verdict

Wigs On The Green has the best form in the book but it will be a gamble if he reproduces it judged on current efforts. The market will tell us more about him and also Gemmattymoll who ran as though something was amiss last time. Hitdroadjack performed below expectations last time but his yard are in great form at present, whilst Captain Cobajay continues to progress and may find enough to figure here. MAJOR FAWCETT makes most appeal having caught the eye on his hurdling bow when hampered at halfway before staying on to take fourth. The form may amount to little but the performance left the impression he would have more to offer over this trip.
  1. Major Fawcett
  2. Captain Cobajay
  3. Wigs On The Green
